....Why are certain people on here politicising the tragic death of a young woman at the hands of someone who has clearly got major mental issues? There is absolutely NO justification - religious or political to murder a defenceless, unarmed woman or indeed anyone. It is irrelevant what the man shouted or what particular extremist orgaisations he was affiliated with, be they allegedly religious e.g. IS or political e.g. e Nazi, White supremacist. Murder is murder and the man is clearly a danger to society and mentally ill. Leave discussions about motive and recriminations as to how he was able carry out this atrocity out of it and just mourn the senseless death of a young woman and mother. RIP
Nice post. No motive has been established yet. I think we can all unite in saying how tragic it is rather than mudslinging, politicising it or using it to further personal beliefs. One or two comments elsewhere are beyond the pale.
Maybe, because she was a politician. It will inevitably create a debate that questions political motives and issues. Equally, should it prove the case, mental issues will also be debated and questioned too.
I take it you put the motive/ what was shouted to one side when a mentally ill man did similar in Orlando this week?
So what are you implying? Actually my views on that are the same if you bother to read my post I did not post anyyhing to be honest as it is, sadly all too common an event in the USA.
How can the killing of a politician, be anything other than political? Particularly as there multiple witnesses to the "britain first' shout. The poor lass was not some random bystander. Plus, any politically motivated murder, then becomes an act of terrorism in the eyes of the law. There's a big difference between motivation and justification.
One of the major problems we have is that if the guy had been from the ethnic community the press would have overlooked the fact that mental illness was at the root of this problem and run with the head lines ....terrorist kills MP regardless of the facts. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of both victims If what ive read on the subject is correct One whos been let down by the poor state of the countrys mental health service and the other dying from the actions as a result. Today is not the correct time to gain political ground but sooner or later folk need to awaken from this self first self last culture and realise that we and we alone are responsible for allowing these constant cuts year on year to our health service.....mental health issues can happen at any time to every single one of us....take it from someone who knows
You missed the point of my original post I am afraid. Motivation, justification whatever! My point was - Now is not the time or place to debate this. We should just reflect on the fact that a family has been torn apart by the actions of someone clearly dangerously disturbed. Discussing motive/justification(there is none to a rational thinking person) will not change that. Leave it at that.
I understand that. But your opening post was loaded with all the elements you feel inappropriate to discuss.
Why not Jihadist =mentally ill. If that is aimed at me I find it highly offensive as you imply I am passing judgement based on race/colour or religion. I re-iterate. regardless of ex/creed/colour/religion or race, killing innocents or simply killing at all for ideology, religion personal gain, is wrong and should not be politicised.
What about if they are like a creamy brown colour... Like the he colour of a decent brew.. Where do they fit in?
