When will people realise that Don Rowing is not the decision maker at BFC?

He is General Manager/Secretary and in my years working for Ltd companies, neither of those roles call the shots; they merely are the board of directors gofers and message passer on-ers.

If people have grievances on how this club is run, well that sits squarely with Messrs Cryne and Taylor. Without whom I very much doubt we'd even have a club to support.

To be fair he has 1/3 of the decision making power but you're right, he takes all the flack for that 3rd

Has anybody yet ascertained the duties or positive reasons for Taylor's continued presence on our board?

Does he invest any money into the club?

Does he get us favours at the FA?

I'm at a loss as to his contribution.

I agree wholeheartedly, I've no idea whatsoever what he contributes.

Terry Butcher and O'Driscoll both said Don was the one they spoke to.

Problem with Don is he runs is like a business not a football club. No knowledge on football I presume with the bids he accepts etc.

Don is the club's only paid director and the general manager. Barry Taylor is an unpaid director who is only part time at the club and Cryne owns the whole thing but isn't actually on the board of directors

Perhaps one of three but his main role is GM. So as was mentioned by Hicksy he gets a disproportionate amount of sh*t. I guess because he puts his head above the parapet where the other two don't.

Either way, no way should he get the grief he does. I don't see anyone else wanting to do the job.

He gets the grief because he is the only paid director on a bloody good wage, because he is the general manager (ie he holds the highest position in the company) and because he is the clubs spokesman and the one who usually says things that people disagree with.

I also find your comment about nobody else wanting the job to be bizarre and don't see what you base that on.

There's not exactly a queue down Grove St to offer to run the club is there?!

    I'd do it.

Why would there be a queue of people to apply for a job at Oakwell when there has never been any kind of indication that there is a job vacancy?

Doesn't have to be. We're not inundated with offers of investment are we? We should be grateful someone is prepared to put up.

you do realise that Don Rowing is a paid EMPLOYEE of Barnsley Football Club don't you? That he simply works for the club in the role of general manager and that he doesn't and hasn't 'put up anything' as he isn't the owner. You were aware of that wasn't you?

He is well remunerated to 'put up'.

I don't know about that; there a few on here who could do the job with their eyes shut.
