I would tell them to "Go f*ck yourselves" OR alternatively pay the fines on condition that the money goes to a charity jointly decided between the FAs and FIFA. FIFA has enough money sloshing around and dont see why we should further add to the coffers of this corrupt, amoral organisation.
Old ground but I cannot see how the wearing of poppys is political or religious as I always thought that despite the association with Worlds Wars and UK wars since, in some peoples minds, that it is supposed to commemorate the death of all those who fell in battle regardless of nationality, race, colour or creed.

Seriously p*ssed off with FIFA at the moment for such a decision!

What confuses me is why the complete difference in the amount of fines.

When everyone committed the same "offence"

How much did Croatia get fined for lawn mowing a schwatzika into their pitch? Bet it wasn't as much as that

Its bizarre I can see a case for a difference between england/scotland and Wales/Ireland as england and scotland had poppies on their shirts, so had England and Scotland been fined the same but different to Wales and Ireland I could half understand it but to fine England one amount , Scotland and Wales a different amont but the same and Ireland a different amount again makes no sense at all

    but thats Fifa for you.

FIFA has completely lost the plot. How on earth is wearing a poppy a political statement? Why is the English FA fined more than the others? Absolute cretins are FIFA.

I'd tell them to stuff the World Cup up their arse. It shouldn't be in Russia anyway.

Why are we arguing over the amount? As my OP said why is the poppy symbol seen by FIFA as political or religious.? Since when was commemorating the dead of many nations, creeds and races, religious or political. Just a sign of respect. The FAs should not cave in over this and fight it.

Nah! Just turn up with kit design with Feckin' great poppy emblazoned on the shirts. Put a slogan on commemorating all soldiers killed in all wars in every country. Be great when they throw us out/fine us for political statements. Would show them up for what they are (which for me at this moment is not printable).
As for "sport should be about sport and only that. What a bunch of hypocrites FIFA are when you have official suppliers and sponsors everywhere when the WC is on ... Like Coca Cola the 'official drink' kind of cr*p you get bombarded with.

So it's ok to have your sponsor's name all over your kit
If I was the FA's involved I would announce that yes we will pay the fine but from the 17/18 season the British legion will be granted free sponsorship and the poppy being it's symbol will be displayed on all kits from now on....problem solved and **** all they could do about it.

Im not arguing over the amount, just agreeing that if FIFA deemed it an offence worthy of punishment surely there should be a consistent fine. The fact the fines are different is further evidence they have no clue what they are doing

I totally agree that a fine is an inappropriate punishment at all - however as the nations ignored a direct command from FIFA on this topic I am not surprised that FIFA have issued fines. The problem is FIFA's stupid attitude, which is different from previous seasons, before the match not their handling after the home nations stuck 2 fingers up at them

I like that idea very much. You should write to the FA with it!!

Donate the fine money to the British Legion or the War Graves Commission. That might piss FIFA off even more.
Oh, and do it on the 11th November.

Time to scrap FIFA and all it's failings including all the regional setups like UEFA etc.. It's beyond repair, not just from this poppy ruling, just everything it handles..

Start a single World Football Association where every country having a professional team gets 1 representative 1 vote on matters like the awarding of world cups etc, new rulings.. gotta be fairer than a corrupt bunch of untouchables ruining the game. Where for instance we play the EURO's still the same model of 1 vote per representative team but with only the teams involved in each competition voting. Once a country has hosted, they are no longer allowed to submit an entry for a set no of years etc. Just make the whole thing transparent.

    Hope the fines remain unpaid.
Of course FIFA might ban Scotland from future tournaments which IMO would be wonderful. No more very embarrassing results.

    Sorted. ;)

and what did FIFA fine Argentina for their 'Malvinas' banner? Only £20K - surely there's was much more provocative than the poppy?

I don't get why year on year football associations continue to put up with the garbage FIFA and don't set up a rival company. Plenty of other sports such as Boxing have rival organisations. Look at Darts with how big the breakaway PDC is compared to the original BDO. I'm sure enough countries worldwide hate FIFA enough to set up a rival versions of the World Cup, European Championship etc every four years.

Apparently England had the bigger fine as they were the home team and Scotland/Wales were away from home. There was also trouble at Wembley before/during/after the game.
