Looking for some help hoping I could maybe gather a few films worth watching, I'm a bit of a old English gritty realism kinda guy, can stick Hollywood up their pipes.

Anyway can anyone suggest some good films, along the lines of Poor Cow, Looks and Smiles, Price of Coal, Saturday night Sunday Morning. Just love watching people go about their daily lives between the filming gives me an insight into life before me

    Any help appreciated

Do you like Shane Meadows films? Gritty, some humour, VERY English, but not strictly 'old'.

Suggest, This Is England, Room For Romeo Brass, Somers Town, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands and (most other people's favourite) Dead Man's Shoes.

Pretty much any film directed by Ken Loach. I like The Wind That Shakes the Barley...

Yeh seen dead mans shoes absolutely love it and this is England not seen the others though

I just like the realism in good British movies no underlying love interest no pyrotechnics no pillock in a white vest..... Cheers again

I'm a fan of British films, including Irvine Welsh adaptations.

Cheer psycho I'll give it a look

Just put Riff Raff on now

Yeh Pete I love them even the lock stocks but particularly industrial films or just plain old daily life like looks and smiles love how they're shot with the actor and everyone else is going about their daily life find it fascinating
