FInally got confirmation that I've got a job and then.....

Find out today the HR person dealing with the paperwork in on annual and I can't start till he gets back.

Unbelievable..... I've waited 6 months to get a job and then when I do my start date of July 1st is now looking more like August 1st.

 

Just be happy you've got one mate.

I was out of work for 7 months like you, got a job last week. In no way perfect but a jobs a job in these hard times.

Enjoy your month off the best you can, knowing you've got something lined up.

 

Cheers Joey... I know what you mean, but until you see the contract and a start date theres always that nagging feeling in the back of your mind it might fall through.... so many others have.

I had an Interview with British Gas as a trainee Gas Fitter (im 40 years old but was 39 at the time) last July, I did all the assesment day down at Derby Midland Hotel, 3 weeks late the recruitment manager called and offered me a position that started last September but they needed my school exam results!!!! I left school in 1985!!!!! I chased and chased them and in the end found the place that held them, I paid 45 pounds for my CSE certificate and also found I had passed O Level English to my shock as didnt know about that at all!! When I got the cert to him, he caleed me 5 days later to cancel the job offer as my quals werent good enough!! WHAT??? I had left school 23 ago!!!! and done 22 years in the Army!!!!!!! also just about to finish my 6129 in plumbing at Barnsley college!!!! WHAT YOU REALLY MENT BRITISH GAS IS YOUR TOO OLD BUT WE CANT LEGALLY SAY IT TO YOU SO WE WILL FOB YOU OFF LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
