I do feel their pain but they're timing is deplorable.

I guess that's why they do it.

A cut in pension, and work longer. Can't blame them to be honest.

Agreed! Us Forces have had to suck up pension changes so what makes firemen any different? My heart bleeds purple piss! I'm sorry but they are getting zero sympathy from me or my colleagues . I could still be in my late 40's early 50's and in a war zone and many are, not much different than putting out a fire for me. At least they can go on strike an'all and have the time to take second jobs! "Stop whining" and "Man the **** up" are my thoughts.

Then maybe you should try and do something about it then, instead of just accepting it, If you lay down and roll over you will get a fecking kicking from this set of bast**ds !

Jesus, good to see a bit of solidarity. Hopefully when you ask for a bit of support people are a bit more empathetic

The forces ended up putting bloody fires out for the striking firemen a few years back, sorry, I cannot find sympathy for them. My mate in the forces had a dad on strike then and disagreed with his actions. Firefighting is an important job but they get a good wage for it and very good pension. As I said, man up fireman Sam!

The forces ask for, and get, a huge amount of support from the public. And quite rightly so. Shame you can't do the same for other public servants.

Only 2% of the armed forces stay until they are 55 so not quite the same

Aye, and not many get pensions of 20k plus that aren't commissioned either, two sides to everything I suppose...
