this magnificent run got me thinking-has any Barnsley manager had such a good start to their career here-answer NO !
And there's no reason for it to get any worse! Let's have another 3 points on Saturday and then we can really start to feel comfortable
I bet you'd be pushed to find a football manager anywhere with a better record over his first 10 games, whether it be at a particular club or in his career as a manager. That's the challenge, if you chose to accept it.
Eddie Howe at Bournemouth this season W7 D3 L0 so not quite as good, although unbeaten which counts for something. That was my only hope (but I do have a very short memory). However, they then went on to win the next four games...
How about someone like Guardiola at Barca, Mourinho at Real/Chelsea or anyone at Celtic/Rangers (or similar). I'm not sure of their records, but the top managers going into the top clubs in a league with limited opposition could easily get a similar record in their first ten matches...
That's the thing To be fair it would have to be managers taking over clubs who are rock bottom in the division. Nobody comes close!
