But enjoyed the game. Its difficult to judge because we don't know what the standard of the opposition is so its hard to benchmark the performance, but I think there were plenty of posiitives. Most of these were around the youngsters. I thought Potter was excellent when he came on. Looked tall, quick, strong and composed. Very good going forward, although we didn't get to see him defend much, and their second goal came from his side. however, I think he played well enough to suggest we now have enough cover at left back. RNL was impressive when he came on. He doesn;t look lightening quick but didn't need to be, he beat the full-back and delivered the ball first time with an excellent left foot. Made such a difference to have a left footed player on the left so that the first time ball could come in. Plus it was quality delivery. i like Devaney but he is an infuriating player. His delivery was once agian woeful on saturday. I know people don't like El Hamoir but his delivery was much better than Devaney and the cross for the own goal was brilliant. He didn't do a lot other than that but if Devaney could add quality delivery liek that he would be a much better player. The biggest thing for me though was how much better we looked when we brought pace on. Odds and Sods probably aren't good enough at this level, but they did show how much more dangerous we look when we have quick players. Odejayi did more in the first 5 minutes than the disjointed Macken and Bogdanovic managed in the previous 75. The big problem we have is as soon as he comes on all our players get over excited and start lumping it upfront. Once they actuall calmed down and realised we could still play the passing game we were before we looked an excellent team and Odejayi's goal was quality. Sodje's pass was inch perfect and KO should pace, power and for once composure. if he could add that to his game regularly he would be a very effective palyer. Its just a sham ehe missedd the one on one at the end, with a bad first touch just taking it away from him although he did the right thing in trying to dink it over the keeper who did well to save. i supopose 1 out of 2 chances though and we wouldn't be complaining, and certainly Macken and Bogdanovic wouldn't have got in to that position due to the lack of pace.
It just came to me when they were brought on. My dad nearly fell of his seat One of my very few better moments
