so have never given a player assessment, and to be fair have had a decent Barnsley mouthwash/gargle but here goes, shoot me down if you want i am NFI !, Davies 6 had nowt to do first 65 mins then pulled a couple o decent saves Wabara 6 steady not biggest fan Mawson 6 steadyish stilll looks Nyatangaesk Long 6 Steady still not convinced White 7 impressed today Pearson 6 better late on but last few performances have put me off him Hourihane 6 shoot nar en again FFS Watkins again got better but all huff and puff Winnall glad he got the goals not same standard as last year yet Isgrove 8 best performance in a Red shirt by far but on rest of appearances not hard Hammill 8 beat 1 man beat 2 man many times in second half, exciting didn't think he'd be same player but so far so good Subs Templeton 6 first time i've seen much of him to be fair took his goal really well Williams 7 did really well when he came on M Smith 9 his best 12 seconds in a barnsley shirt by far, came on shook keepers hand
Davies 6 - Could have been more commanding but made a couple of decent saves Wabara 7 - Very good cross for the goal. General play was much better. Mawson 6 - Comfortable on the ball but again we conceded a couple. Long 6 - Didn't get beaten in the air all afternoon but again we conceded a couple. White 8 - Didnt put a foot wrong defensively and very good going forwards. Got a few tricks up his sleeve. Pearson 8 - Tenacious display, didn't give their midfielders a moments rest. Good going forwards too with a couple of very nice switches of play and an assist with a nice flick for Templeton. Hourihane 6 - Quiet by his standards. Struggled to make an impact. Isgrove 8 - Slow start but got better throughout. Nice run for Winnal's goal. Watkins 7 - Not on the same wavelength as Winnall at times but took his goal very well. Looks a decent target man, laying off balls for his teammates, notably setting up Hammill in the first half. Winnall 8 - 2 goals and an assist. Finishing much better than in the Wigan game.
The idea is that you give ratings on the specific performance in the game, not whether you like em generally or not. I would only agree with maybe 2 out of your 13 but thanks for your contribution. 5/10 for effort
That is what I'd have given, but would have given Hammill a 7. Some great flair, but not a lot of end product, mostly as 2 men were on him.
The idea is that you give ratings on the specific content of the post and not the level of effort extended. 2/10 - could try harder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Davies - 7 - Don't think he did anything of real note, not much he could have done for the goals conceded. Wabara - 7 - Had a solid game for me, very good assist for Winnall's first Mawson - 7 - Big improvement, played better without the pressure of the captains armband. Long - 7 - Steady enough again, brilliant in the air, perhaps could have done better for the 1st goal as could the other defenders. White - 8 - Another impressive performance, linked up well with Hammill again. Would be happy to sign him permanently. Pearson - 8 - Best display in a Barnsley shirt, is persistence in feeding Winnall to supply Watkins was sublime and good to see and backheel to Templeton was outstanding. Hourihane - 6 - Not is best game by any stretch, but wasn't a bad game. He seems to be getting better defensively and in the air. Isgrove - 8 - Outstanding, best game for us. Run outta steam in the end, glad he got a ovation. Hammill - 8 - Stupidly good that he had to 2 players on him at all times, 70% of the time he got through them. Watkins - 8 - Battling performance, he never gave up. Can't fault him. Winnall - 9 - The Sam Winnall of last season before is injury was back yesterday, unlucky not to pick up the MOTM award. Williams and Templeton both looked bright when they came on. Smith didn't do too much wrong either
i will give you a few clues; firstly the GG are go and get and O means off ! surely the rest is easy to work out
