We know we dont have the greatest players in the division, but the effort they put in, especially second half, was phenomenal. Toggers and McCann were real workhorses in the middle and gave Parlour et al no time on the ball. Devaney was his usual self, but the run through the middle he made when he then put it on a plate for Istvan I think, was brilliant. Shame he got scythed down and for that prat D'Urso to wave it away was diabolical - like the rest of his performance. Howard was also his usual, lively self and capped it with a wonderful cross for Istvan's second. Our defence were nothing sparkling but got the job done, although I thought Nyatange performed very well on his home debut.

Extra praise for the night though has to go to the Hungarians. Both were lethal and very lively. Istvan always looked like winning everything in the air - something we have lacked for too long now. We finally look like we can achieve something from the flanks at last. Long have I questioned the use of the wingers when we rarely threaten from crosses, but now Istvan looks like he could be the man to convert our fair share.

On a final note though, as we all know, we shouldn't get carried away with this result. Our first two goals seemed to come from ricochets bobbling through to the strikers, and although they were cool finishes, they wont get chances like that very often. It must have just been one of those nights for us. Oh, and the Hull defence were awful. Probably the worst I have seen in a long time.

I can sleep well tonight now. Cheers lads, a few more performances like that and we have a fighting chance of survival.
