Seeing as this was the first game of another new year, what are everybodys thoughts and memories of these games.

One that really stands out for me was an amazing 3-4 win for us at Hull at the start of '87. this was after a hat trick from a kid called Ian chandler, and it made up for Hulls 1-4 win at ours the previous year.

Saw us draw 1-1 at St Andrews 2 years ago after booking first class tickets to Birmingham about 8 pints into a new year's eve session. Seemed like a good idea at the time. First words when I woke up the next morning realising what I'd done were "oh for f**ks sake". Felt terrible on the train down, felt slightly better after throwing up in Starbucks in the Bullring and saw Jacob Mellis score a cracking free kick to equalise. 7/10.

I remember the Hull game with Duggan getting the winner in injury time at the end after we ad trailed 3-2 with less than the minutes left. Here's a poser for you though - should Ian Chandler's hat trick be in the record books as the only time in the English football league, or premiership that a player has scored his hat trick in equalisers? I can't find any other example of it anywhere. Can anyone contradict me? Strange that Chandler hardly managed another goal apart from his three at Hull.
