    In Feb the sculptor said it was still being debated, either in the town centre or outside Oakwell.

    It's a bronze statue and shirts didn't have badges/sponsors on back then did they? So it's just a shirt surely. In bronze.

    Hopefully it'll be outside oakwell.

    I'd give it 2 days in town centre until some smack rat vandalises it

    Outside Oakwell would be my choice too but I would fear for its safety at night time. Enough horrible little specimens around who would think it a great laugh to deface a piece of artwork, wherever it might be. That's the cynic in me talking though - I really hope it is put in a prominent position at Oakwell. About time we started honouring our greats.

    This was the quote

    "The enthusiasts have already spoken to local sculptor Graham Ibbeson, a huge Tommy Taylor fan, who said it would be "a total honour" to be involved in the project if funds can be raised to finance the statue.

    Graham, whose Dickie Bird statue already has pride of place in the town, said it is open to debate about where the statue will be - outside Oakwell or in the town centre."

    To clarify - i think the statue will look good, and it's a nice idea. I just think the design picture is from a bad perspective...
