https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/a...more-fans-away-with-failures-on-and-off-pitch This one is a bit more damning that the earlier one, but there's little to be argued with here. I presume it was written by Doug O'Kane, albeit there's no-one credited directly. Edit: Missed it, Doug's name is right at the top, above the photo.
Almost everything (sans 750K) discussed on this board, cleaned up, spellchecked, grammar checked, and printed.
Its very curious that neither article has touched on the £750k withdrawn by the owners to pay part of what their investment vehicle owed to the Crynes.
It wouldn't be slanderous. Its in black and white in the 2020 company accounts. Though I do wonder if they've been warned off from going down that route, or are naturally cautious given the legal case pending.
I think someone mentioned there were two cases listed which had been condensed into one and its pretty likely that specific payment and how it was made is one of the issues.
There's some info in there I haven't seen before. Its the first time I've seen numbers quoted for West Stand ST refunds, and we're apparently all to be treated to actual words from the CEO again at some point soon (including supporter groups, apparently).
I like this article. It hits home hard and tells us exactly what is important. However I do wonder how worried the various owners are about this ... probably not at all.
Totally agree. It is a frank but honest assessment of how ma y Barnsley FC fans feel, incl interest myself. Not going to FACup game as totally disallusioned with the way my club is being run by owners who have no empathy with the club, supporters and the town.
Can't wait to see what incentive our board offer to seasonal members for next season that they won't get until the new year.
I'm assuming as it isn't illegal. As far as I understand it, it's morally bent but I don't think it's criminal. For me it's the fact that they said they wouldn't take a penny from the club... Then they did.
