Reading through the posts on here it would seem there are some strange folk on here rattling on about glory seeking fans and that Season Ticket Holders are gods or somat. Well here's my credentials and lets see if you lot think myself and my 7 year old deserve a ticket even though we aren't season ticket holders.
I'm 40+ and being going to Oakwell regularly since 1971.
I was a season ticket holder for 10 seasons from the late 70's through to the late 80's.
After that I attended 80% of home games and numerous away games upto around 93/94 season.
I became an infrequent visitor to Oakwell for the next 10 seasons or so due to work and money reasons(and this includes the Premiership season and I didn't attend the Wembley playoff final either)
I now take my son to games and we try to attend a home game once a month.
My son has 3 Barnsley shirts.
I still have 3 Barnsley scarves I wore in the 70's.
I own a pair of red socks and my dog is called Toby after the legendary Toby Tyke.

    AM I WORTHY OR NOT?

    Thoughts?

    In my opinion

You are worthy even if you have never been to a match in all your life. You just might come back again if you enjoy Wembley, and that would only be good for the club.

If I had a pub and turned away customers who had never been in before, it would be a crappy sort of pub.

With your record of course you are worthy.

    Enjoy the day out mate

    RE: In my opinion

Well reading this kind of thing about a season ticket holder only needing 6 tickets which....... leaves 2 spare. if you want them you must pm me and have at least 10 home stubbs, that way i know you really deserve them..... it would seem I don't deserve em as I don't have 10 home stubbs. What an absolute load of ****** IMO.

I used to have some of them. I've even saved a picture of me in the crowd at Middlesborough in the cup game early 80's, now surely that's enough ? :) :'( :D

can you just clarify before i make my final worthiness decision. did you dig up and keep a small section of the oakwell turf from the early 80's when the pitch was getting relaid for drainage at the end of the season???

course you have a right to tickets for wembley, just over 6,000 season ticket holders, around 1,000 centenary members. up to 33,000 tickets available.

how can any season ticket holder moan about part timers, when they will be getting tickets for others, no doubt some will be taking family members that dont watch barnsley, thats their choice no law against it.

i was at palace yesterday, norwich an coventry the other week, does'nt give me the right to a semi ticket, but i did'nt see 6,000 season ticket holders their either so what gives some of you the right to preach about who goes or not.

by the way pal i know you and i hope you both get tickets

    As a season ticket holder

My only concern for these sort of games is that I am guaranteed being able to get a ticket, that's it, any others that the club allow me to get are incidental - ok, that's probably because those I attend games with also have season tickets so I know I'll be able to get. But I'd have had no problem if they said 1 per ST holder. Anyone should have the opportunity to be able to buy tickets.
