Sunderland vs Portsmouth is hardly thrilling. Got done to death last year!

To be fair to Sky the cricket world cup coverage has been great.

Great stuff, aslong as they stay away from our games I’m happy. I prefer the Saturday 3pm games thanks.

I’ve already booked up for Cardiff. hotel and transport all sorted now so can’t wait for sky to announce a month before that they’re going to change the game to a Sunday afternoon kick off.

Their coverage of most sports is great, but relatively few people get to see it. They’ve just refused the ECB’s requests to show the cricket final on free-to-air platforms. Fair enough, they’ve paid £££ for the rights, but it’s ultimately killing the game. Participation numbers fall off a cliff. It happened when they had the rugby 5-nations rights some years back. Participation at U15 level and below fell by more than 80%. Someone this morning made the point, after over 11m people watched the women’s football last night, that kids are more likely to recognise Steph Houghton and Ellen White than Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan. They might well be right.

I noticed cardiff has the first premier inn zip 20 quid a night but on edge on town.
