Why? Home first Brighton away in (sunny) August Leeds, Huddersfield and Wednesday on weekends Huddersfield tasty last game No long midweek journeys Home boxing day and Christmas week Peterborough away New Years Day Blackpool a weekend trip 4 of 6 in April at home I seriously doubt they could have been any better. Only usual scenario is London away the weekend before Christmas - again!
Think that would be away to Ipswich or something? Don't have to get on a coach with stinking hangover.
Re: No problems with them Looks a bad August fixtures, but if we can get fired-up in pre-season. Who knows what could happen.
Birmingham is the furthest club you'd expect to play on Boxing Day. If you have a look at out previous Boxing Day fixtures we tend to get someone from Lancashire as they like to keep it fairly local for the bumper crowds. Shame that Birmingham have such a ***** away following.
I've only half considered 'quality' of opponents in this. As it's too unpredictable to tell how good they will end up being (that's the Championship for you). With all this global warming there's as much chance it'll be balmy in Blackpool as will be snow ha. 3/4 points from August wouldn't be bad
No complaints at all - just a good and optimistic feeling like that I have at the start of every season.
Could I also add over Easter short trip to Wednesday on the Saturday then home Easter Monday so no travel exhaustion there! Besides Millwall away just before Christmas I still can't spot any issues that anyone would have. Only occur if only Sky game meant late KO far away. Local pubs will go 6 weeks with just one Saturday home game around October but some are midweek. Let's hope BBC cover us last game, for positive reasons!
Great for some, not least those without any kids and London Tykes, but it's a pricey outlay just before Christmas. Nevertheless I did enjoy Palace the other year, which was almost called off due to ice (and me going arse over tit), and Millwall was interesting!
Millwall was definitely interesting. Annoying at the time but we made the best of it and West Ham was a good day last year. Any London trip is a good day out.
London trip just before christmas is fairly standard because history says that the last weekend before christmas is always one of the worst for attendances 'cos so many are dragged to the shops for last minute shopping, so there's no harm is making it an unnattractive fixture for most clubs - it gets such a fixture out of the way on a bad support day. Better than having a local derby on that day when the attendance would be affected by the shopping!.
