Your discipline was poor last night - and it certainly wasn't being helped from the sidelines. The Jack took the bait and lost the plot.

After the match I was talking to the guy who escorts the officials on & off the pitch - Davey was sent to the stand (where he continued his tirade) for abusing the ref & his assistant (no idea who that is, sorry) was also in trouble and is being reported by the ref.

First half you were shocking, worst side at NP this year - and to be worse than Charlton says something. 2nd half, fair play, you gave it a go.

My mates were saying how well Macken does against us & what a decent player - I made the cardinal sin of agreeing that he's a good player but doesn't score enough these days. 10 bloody seconds - I'll get my coat, great goal :D

Anyway - that clot who got himself a straight red immediately after. Needs to take a long look at himself, he was itching to get dismissed all game. We get a free kick which he tries to slow down, Chops nudges him out of the way and he bitch slaps him in front of the ref. Unbelievable - especially as he'd had about 3 "final warning" talks.

Was quite impressed after you'd gone down to 10 that you kept 3 up front - with 2 of them pushing wide it caused us some edgey moments, although apart from a save from Mifsud at the end of the 1st half our keeper had little to do.

Up front you looked quite lively all game tbh, even when you didn't have the ball but on that performance I didn't think much of the midfield or defence - Muller excluded who pulled off some cracking saves.

There's a long way to go yet, all is certainly not lost.

Fans-view match report here (below the ice hockey vid, strangely) if you can bear to read it.

    Interesting

Spoke to a retired Premiership player who was at NP scouting for one of his former employers, he said we weren't up to speed based on what he'd seen earlier this season but he thought the ref did well in asking the home crowd what he should do before every decision.

    RE: Interesting

In all honesty the crowd were quiet last night - other than when it came to the guy with West Walian leanings.

Believe me, ref was lenient and dished out warning after warning before eventually having to book players. Time-wasting, dissent and niggly, nothing fouls aplenty.

  4. Excellent report from the City fan

Well written and very perceptive. In essence our manager performed just like the crowd wanted him to, taking the bait that was cruelly thrown at him throughout. Sent to the stands again - getting to be habit Simon!
Our German keeper excelled himself with a number of flying saves - shame he spilled one for their goal but that's life.
Our Iranian Premiership Playmaker spent the whole match trying to get himself sent off before finally managing it. I didn't realise that Iranians had anti-Welsh tendencies. Now forgive me but shouldn't our manager have NOTICED his behaviour and hauled him off before the ref sent him off? Too obvious by the sound of it - possibly cost us the game, but probably going to lose it anyway.
Yet another frustrating night listening to the Reds on BWorld. All part of the game though - you win some, you lose more. Twas ever thus.....

Were the Cardiff fans doing the Ayatollah by any chance? Andranik is an Iranian christian, so could have wound him up I suppose! :D

  6. Oooh didn't think of that one!

You might well be right. If so it was bad selection policy on the manager's part. He should have known that Andranik would not have been able to take the insults.

    Cheers mate

Always nice to hear the view of opposing fans. Always a well written piece too.

You can't Blame Davey for that!

He's a professional. Harry Redknapp didn't sub Campbell this season. He got on with the game, and mentioned it afterwards.

Well done to the Bluebirds last night for being............"HOSTILE"..........

..........and as you know I hate (if I can use that word) Cardiff fans for their attempt to spoil a family day out for Barnsley fans at Wembley by throwing coins at women and kids and throwing bottles of beer at coaches full of families.
So I dont usually stoop so low as to answer a thread from these idiots but on this occasion I think I must

When it comes to upsetting an opposing team, upsetting the manager of an opposing team, upsetting the referee.............then they know how to do it by being ..........."HOSTILE"...........(Simon Daveys word not mine)

So I think its about time some of us Barnsley fans threw the slippers away along with the piping hot flask of tea and also the blacket to keep their little chubby legs warm and started taking a leaf out of Cardiff City fans books on how to be proper football fans by being HOSTILE to the opposing team and manager................and that means all over the ground and NOT just where its PERMITTED in the Ponti End

And before some idiot says it...............Hostile dosent mean stooping so low as to start throwing things at opposing fans

    Stopped reading at

"they make up the Championship numbers and often feature around the drop zone but have skilful players and are more than capable of shocking anyone."

As much as I like to be patronised, it's a bit early in the day for me thanks.

He may well have thought it was specifically directed at him!
