Was anyone in the lower tier behind the goal? At half time some bloke lost his rag and pulled down a flag that was hanging from the upper tier. A bloke cam storming down (possibly owner of the flag) to have words. I didn't see how it was resolved but it looked pretty nasty. Anyone see owt?
That must have been a bloody big flag To have been hung from the upper tier and blocking view in the lower tier! I bet those in the middle tier were well pissed off! ff
Suppose it must have been an obstruction for him to reach it, stewards came along the front of the second tier before kick off pulling all the flags up so they wouldn't cause obstruction to the people underneath.
Bit daft though pulling somebody's flag down,You never know who's at the other end of it, grumpy barsteward.
btw I thought the flags accross the front of the tier behind the goals and around the ground looked excellent and well done to anyone who took the time out to make one.

In fairness to the bloke who pulled it down, the flags were an obstruction. I had to change seats in order to see properly because of a flag hanging down. Asking the folk up top to move it didn't seem to get me anywhere. No excuse for pulling it down though...
That was our flag ........ one of the first to be made... ...with Toby in the corner, and it cost £200 (20 of us x £10) and it is ruined. That flag has been to, and been seen at, virtually every England match over the last 6 years, including the world cup in Japan. If it was blocking somebody's view, fair enough take it down, but to rip it straight across the middle, ridiculous and we are not happy about it at all! (NOOO)
RE: That was our flag ........ one of the first to be made... Bad news pal. It was all a bit bizarre because it didn't look like the flag was actually blocking his view, it was behind him. He just lost it and started ripping it down. Did you get any money off him?
RE: That was our flag ........ one of the first to be made... If that had been our flag, I've have lamped him.
Hope you get another......

Two of our lads went down to find out what had happened .... .... the flag was nearly ripped in two, they said there were about 10 lads who were basically up for a fight about it. Given that the match was still ongoing, the two lads came back without saying a great deal. We were all going to go down after the match to sort it out but events on the field obviously overtook things. Suffice to say, it didn't get sorted but it's not forgotten
I was sat..... Directly underneath it. Some bloke to the right and about 5 rows further forward came up and ripped it down because, allegedly, whoever owned it had put the flag over the top of theirs. After they ripped it down one of the stewards collected it and from what I saw it was ripped pretty badly. Following this there was an angry confrontation between some of the blokes who ripped it down and blokes from tier above. The stewards just stood there and watched which surprised me. Considering it was a massive game for the club and the arguing was going on during the game I thought it was completely and utterly f**king pathetic!!
swinton have you seen the swinton flag on fifa 2006 I reckon you ought to be able claim your money back for plagarism

It was in front of me I was stood (not sat because they wouldn't sit in front)immediately behind the lads who pulled the flag down, they were all pissed as hell, the argument seemed totally stupid (I didn't know the flag was anything but a cheapie),and the stewards did get involved, told the 2 blokes from the tier above to go back upstairs, and the lads they were arguing with to can it or they'd be out,5 of the 7 or 8 were too drunk to notice, one lad kept standing on the seat and fell back twice,my 14yr old son stopped him falling right over,I told him to let the t**t fall if it happened again, they weren't the best advert for our club.
