how are they allowed in grounds? u couldnt take a fart into ground at blackey without the stewards throwing u out but at the ROI v POLAND game, the polish are waving flare's about and even thrown one on the pitch
More of a problem in the 70s My husband, once went to Highbury in the late 70s... he used to smoke in those days, and discarded his tab end, somewhat carelessly amidst a packed North Bank. Ten minutes later, the guy next to him started jumping around.... the cigarette had caught in the turn up on his flares, and set his trousers on fire! Potential deathtrap those flares.... Oh, you didn't mean those kind of flares .....
