Anyone else seen the proposal going around on social media for all Barnsley fans to wear flat caps at Wembley? Personally I think it would look great (aka signs of the 1912 Fa Cup final crowd scenes) but only if everyone got behind it .....Just a few hundred turning up would look a poor effort.

    Thoughts?

I heard about it in the ground yesterday; our kid is wearing one. I'm undecided yet but it does sound like the idea is gathering some momentum.

I have to say if it's going to gather momentum it needs to be proper flat caps, not red and white ones or gimmick ones .....But would certainly get some coverage for the fans and the club.

Funny you should say that because our kid is on about wearing a red one. :)

The only way it will take off in sufficient numbers is if there's people selling them at Wembley. A good business opportunity for someone.

Yeah it would, coverage of the patronising and condescending type that we have always complained about in the past. The kind that dictated that every game at Oakwell being covered on the telly HAD to start with a shot of a pit head in the distance, just to make sure everyone knew we were from oop north.

    not for me thanks.

personally think it could turn out mega embarrassing, if everybody did it in a fun fancy dress type way maaaaaybe not otherwise I agree that it will just give local rivals a bit more ammunition on the stereotype thing.
