Flicker - I'm confused

Played 5-3-2 last season and was successful. A system which suits Mellis and McCourt. A system we played in what for me was the best performance of the season against Huddersfield.

I'm dissapointed with the crowds and lack of backing in the ground. Seems as a group of fans we prefer to complain and have a go rather than get behind the team.

Against Donny the atmosphere was poor and the numbers worse. I just can't remember the last time I felt a buzz in the ground. The way we are going we need fans backing us and to create an atmosphere. Clubs like us can't have an home game which is just a non event.

Away from home we are left with just the die hard's, when I first started going away, numbers where good.

Just have a feeling we could end up like Swindon, Notts County and Oldham etc who had a large period of there history like us then fell away to nothing.

Hope we cam get the wins in the next few games but it can be easily sorted. Cykwa deserves a go, Mellis in the middle to push on and stop Wiseman heading the ball in defence (haha).

    UTR!!!!!!

The atmosphere is poor at oakwell because theres nothing to get excited about, people have stopped travelling away because theres nothing to get excited about, fans can sing as much as they want but once they see the same mistakes being made over and over again it becomes a pointless excersise and they simply give up. There is 1 person responsible for this.

That's very true. I've lost complete interest in going to away games and even home games are a chore i've not looked forward to in ages.

    Chicken and the egg.

However, it's a lot easier to create a good atmosphere than it is to win a game of football in the Championship.

Me too. Not been away this season and only went to about 10 away last season.

Cant even be bothered swapping shifts for home games and would have missed this Saturday had England got to rlwc final.

Im fed up that nearly everyone except flicker can seem to see what's wrong. Or he can but he's too stubborn to change it

The atomosphere at oakwell at the end of last season was better than anything ive seen of since going to nearly every Barnsley match since the 2007/2008 season.

Smacks of a man who is shirking his responsibilities. Almost straight from the Keith Hill Book of Sticking Two Fingers Up At The Fans.

    Clueless and other such words.

Not going to have a go at Flicker becaut of last season. I'm just confused at his change of approach from a successful one to what we have now.

Should have had 9 from 9 the last 3 games going into last Saturdays game. Millwall are poor, but the goal was an absolute joke with no pressure on Wiseman at all.

Only been to Blackpool this season where I got chatting to a Featherstone Rovers fan with his mrs sat beside me, but it wasn't you as you didn't go :D If only Flicker could see what we all seem to see of players out of position.

It all smacks of Simon Davey to me at the moment. Mellis is clearly not a left midfielder. Cykwa can play on the left.

We have nothing through the middle, Mellis can be a threat in the midddle.

Hassell can defend and be relied on, Wiseman will be a better winger than right back with more composure.

It's a hard life been a reds fan who works outside of Barnsley, banter for me the last year or so isn't banter.

But I hope Flicker see's sense. Go back to January to May's style and we will be ok. Some call it against all odds football. I call it winning football.

All teams who do well I'm a season play with a spark all season. That builds up crowds and atmospheres in grounds. Why does that never happen with us?
