Ok, so apart from the terrible grammar from a supposed journalist, I found some of the comments interesting. On Bobby... “It took longer than it should of (sic) to get completed for a couple of reasons. The change at Chief Executive level and a situation where Bobby wanted to look after his wife and new born child.." "The change at exec level"...could this mean the don had pushed the contract extension, rather than flicker? Did don's retirement give flicker an opportunity to revisit don's earlier decision? "a situation where Bobby wanted to look after his wife and new born child"...could this mean the original financial terms of the deal were rejected by bob? “That experience will prove vital in strategic points of the season and in games"...could this be and indirect admission that bobby is a squad player and will be limited to a supporting role? “The fans love him, the club loves him and with Bobby signing the feeling seems to be mutual””...could reference to the fans and the club, be seen as him personally distancing himself from that view? At the same time, is there a suggestion that he is questioning bobby's loyalty? In comparison with his comments on Cranie... “The signing of Cranes is another piece of business I am delighted with. I spoke to him and his agent that much, I might as well of gone on holiday with the two of them. “Cranes’ form last season was outstanding. He got better and better with each game and his level of consistency impressed me..we had to fight off other potential suiters that Cranes form alerted. “To see him join in training gives the environment a real buzz. Myself and Cranes have a great relationship.." “The retainment of key players is crucial and Cranes is key in the jigsaw” Obviously very subjective, and i'm not expressing any opinion either way here. I just found the tone of the two sets of comments very different Discuss...
I would say there are some players he was keener on (O`Grady, Cranie) than others like Bobby and Polish Tommy.
Fooooking HEL !!!......now that is pot calling kettle !!!!!! But to answer your post respectfully (something I know you have problems with but here goes) In my view the bottom line is this............Flicka wasn't that bothered about Hassell signing - and I for one can fully understand why i.e. he is too slow and easily turned now On the other hand Flicka was desperate to sign Cranie.............basically because he is as good as Bobby was in his prime.........plus he can still run
im not speaking as someone with internal knowledge but mine and bobbys kids go to the same school in dodworth and so see him and/or his wife most mornings/afternoons. While it was well known she was pregnant at the time she gave birth she looked nowhere near, in my wifes words, "full blown" and i think it was reported that the newborn child was just over 4lbs which suggests premature birth and possible complications. Bobby put his wife and newborn child first before work and good on him
