: "We risk losing all the players because we left it so late to open negotiations but

    we'll see what happens."

One of the reasons I'd suggest that he wants more control over the 'football' side of things.

    Unsurprising.

I'm not expecting Steele or Cranie to be here next season. If a better offer comes in for McNulty or Cywka, they'll go.

Kennedy I reckon will be here next season, but I also wonder if Hassell will want to play more football and move on irrespective of money.

    Kennedy and Craine

are the only two I'd be disappointed to see leave. Steele is a good Championship keeper but club might benefit from a change in goal. Chufka & McNulty no big deal. Bobby Hassell would play for us for free, probably, so dont see him going anyway.

    Re: Kennedy and Craine

I'm expecting Steele and Cranie to depart. The rest to stay.

It would be nice to actually start a season with the same players that finished the previous one but if we're still p1ssing about with one-year deals then I'd better get used to it.

I think we may see the back of one year deals with Flicker. Its crazy that we keep losing players every year for nothing and having to rebuild once, sometimes twice a season is ridiculous.

Cranie, Steele and Sir Bobby are important and i'd be disapointed if any left. If we lose any of Kennedy, Cywka and McNulty i'll not lose any sleep and be more than confident Lord Flicker will find adequate replacements.

I don't agree about Kennedy; I thought he was a pretty important part of the team in the run in. I really hope he stays.

I'd like them all to stay.

This could be the third season with relative consistency in terms of squad. We can only get better.

But then again, they could all be replaced.

If players want to leave, they'll leave, no matter when we offer them the contract. Were good players like Cranie and Steele really more likely to sign a contract at Christmas when it looked certain we would playing in League 1 next season, rather than now when we know we'll be playing in the Championship? Personally, I very much doubt it. Also, I would imagine we will be able to offer better terms now that our Championship status is secure than we could have done 5 moths ago.

True, but thinking in terms of stability and planning ahead - if say, we'd have managed to get Crainie to extend his contract in Jan, we'd have been in line for a fee should he now decide to do one.

At some stage, we are going to have to start looking beyond a 12 month business period and behave like a club/business that wants to grow.

I think Tompole contributed well and it was a shame for him that he was the one left out of the resurgent midfield under Flitcroft. His goals away at Charlton and Burnley are as crucial as any that kept us up, just not as fresh in our memories. Single, points winning goals, hardly tap ins either. I'd like him to stay.

I think in the case of TK with his weekly contract and other players on lower wages, will see their contribution as vital as the bigger earners and will rightly expect the same rewards. I can't see this being affordable, we simply can't pay every player 250k a year.

You're right of course, but I don't think at that stage of the season he would have signed a contract if it had been offered. I just can't see a player of that quality committing himself to a team that looked certain to be relegated. I think he's much more likely to sign a contract now we know we'll be playing Championship football.

The change in approach has to happen now that things are sorted. We've got a permanent manager in place (I think) and our Championship status is secure. It's time for a fresh start. Quality players like Luke Steele and Martin Cranie should be offered 3 or 4 year contracts. Players with just a year left on their contract should be offered extended deals. But I don't think we were in a position to do that in January when we only had a caretaker manager and relegation looked almost certain. Even if we'd tried I think we would have got short shrift from players and agents. Best to start afresh now rather than lament what happened in the past.

I think Cranie will leave. I can't see him staying here when without a doubt, he'll have much better offers from other Championship clubs. He's also only been here one season unlike Steele who is attached to the club. I wouldn't be too upset if McNulty and Cywka didn't sign but I'd like to see Kennedy stay. He's an able back up to Golbourne but he's also shown to be more than capable playing at LCB.

We don't know if we don't ask....

But yes, now a 'football' man is running the show (hopefully) we might start to see progress.

Surely now is the best time to sell the club. We've retained our championship status, everyone's pulling in the same direction, we've got a bright young manager in charge and ST sales should be up. We've shown that we're capable of consistently beating the best in this division and can maintain promotion form over several months with no money. Cryne isn't looking to sell us for anywhere near as much as it would cost to buy other Championship clubs.

Not in the short term, but if I recall correctly he wants £6million back should we ever get up to the Prem.

Stop talking sense Rowing out and all that :)

Our likely relegation for all the second half of the season made it really difficult for the club this time I hope they all stay but Cranie, Kennedy and Steele are the ones we will struggle to replace if they go - cant see Sir Bobby going anywhere as long as our contract offer isnt a piss take

Also whats happening with O Grady?
