Very interesting. Might get to the end of the week in a very string position. Surprised re likelihood of Cywka re-signing... expected he might have wanted away.
It wasn't about a financial package for Dale, Love that. Good to see he's not bait to the highest bidder.
It wasn't about a financial package for Dale, Love that. Good to see he's not bait to the highest bidder. Do you think Cywka needed DannyWilsonLoveChild? I like the, We've got a budget and we'll stick to that. Like it and the club shouldn't change for anyone. Barnsley bigger than any current player.
He's a strange one Cywka. Can show impressive pieces of skill, but then do something stupid the next minute. I thought he may try his chances elsewhere because he's not a regular and I can't see him being a regular because of the strength of midfield options. With Jennings signing and RNL getting better and Mellis probably being the main midfield orchestrator... I just don't know where he's going to nail down a place
Agree. He looks best of the left and with such wingers as RNL and Jennings there he just isnt going to get a game. There both different players. Both Around 20. If Flitcroft wants to go with a tight 442 like he did in the wolves game he could put Mellis out wide and either play RNL or Golbourne at left back and tell them to get forward.
I hope so. I thought he showed good character (like several others) after seemingly being frozen out for the middle part of the season and chipping in with a fair few goals. He's a decent shout on the bench and for a few starts, particularly if we need a bit more strength than Mellis, O'Brien and the young lads. I just can't see him playing 35+ games and I wouldn't be surprised to see another creative midfielder brought in yet to add further competition.
Agree. Clearly not good enough to make the First XI, but a good bench player. Very much like RNL in that respect
It sounds to me like everybody we hope to sign will sign, except for Steele and possibly Cranie. And some might say (we will find a brighter day) those were the two key players to retain. I suppose time will tell on that. But as r old boy pointed out to me earlier, we've needed a strong centre half for years and so I'm hoping we see some activity with regards to defenders because even if Hassell signs he's only ever going to be used in emergencies, and even if Cranie signs we're still light now we're without Foster (and Edwards but he doesn't really count). Jennings is potentially a fantastic signing. He appears - from the clips I've seen of him - to be an Hammill-esque player, and someone able to run at the opposition with pace. We've only really got Reuben who does that, and he really came on a lot towards the end of the season and I'm excited by the prospect of both he and Dale competing for a place in what is looking as good a midfield as you'll probably find at this level. Get COG in, and we're decent up front. Which then leaves just the defence/keeper to worry about and in all honesty we're only a couple of players away from a decent looking squad which gives me hope that this season will be more boring in terms of us sitting comfortably mid table. I'd take that after last seasons heart attack ending. You Reds.

Maybe not a regular first teamer but a good player to have on the bench. Things are looking very good right now.
