Only just heard The Don's interview. Sounds like a done deal to me. He even sounded like he had a smile on his face, when he was saying we'll make an announcement after the game.

Up or down, the future looks bright. That's totally just made my day!!!

    Y'Know what mate ?...

if someone confirmed that right now, then I would not give a toss about the result on Saturday. Of course I would prefer us to remain in the championship, I guess that goes without sayig. But to secure David Flitcroft to me seems the most important thing. That guy... and lets also mention his staff... is IMHO the way forward. OK if we go down we may lose a few players, but I reckon from what he has been seen to do with us that a few decent players will be taking a look at us, the ones OOC that is. Thanks Tomfun for that, its lifted this Grumpy Fecker a lot.

agree with that. my nervousness about saturday, was more about us losing flicker, than going down. i think we'll storm L1 under him

Really - Im not so sure - it depends how many of the players he can keep. Obviously I will be delighted if he stays whatever happens at Huddersfield but for me its still critical that we stay in the Championship. I think next season we could be top half if we can build on what we have now, but if we drop I still fear key players will go - and its a **** league - not desperate to watch fooblall at that level again next season if I dont have to. Not many teams bounce straight back like Donny have - though they had a bit of luck on the manager side of things as well

not many teams have a manager like flicker. i'd be very confident of play-offs at least

I thinks it more likely that Don will say 'We have just offered David a new contract'. Whetheror not flicker will accept the reduced wages on offer for managing a L1 team is what concerns me. I do not have much faith in the dons negotiating skills. i would hope that he offers over the odds but i doubt it.

pretty sure any package will have been sanctioned by PC. don will just be the messenger. given that PC and flicker speak daily, very confident it will be commensurate with L1.

i think the money we've banked this year (stones etc) was in order to give us a proper chance of competing, in the event we went down. genuinely don't think even the don would have been stupid enough to volunteer the information he did, if he wasn't confident an offer would be accepted. i think it was a rather clever boost for the fans. certainly worked for me!

everyone has been saying for weeks 'the club should make an announcement as soon as the match is over'. that's exactly what's going to happen.

    well done don.

Fair point. I was probably being a little negative and unfair to Don. Although I would have prefered him to say now 'whatever happens on Saturday, flicker will be the manager next season'.
