Along with Mellon, Scott and the IPad.
Load of ******** watching/listening to the same old ****, relegation battles season after season.
Yes we might be little old Barnsley in a league full of teams with foreign owners, but that doesn't stop us beating em! It may be difficult but that's why we need to employ the right managment who know what they are doing! And the current Management staff clearly haven't got a clue!
Its no good looking good in the last 20 minutes or so when we are 2 down or whatever, its about knowing your own teams strengths and weaknesses and putting out the best available side, in the correct positions to go out and have a good go at the opposition, regardless of who they are.

With all due respect, you're a Coldplay fan. This alone, immediately invalidates your opinion

Tbf, I think that most on here were happy with the line-up and we've been beat today by a better team with a far superior budget. A 2-1 defeat away to Leicester is not that bad - at least it wasn't another hammering. I haven't been though admittedly.

Looking forward to Tuesday, we might just be able to get something out of it. U reds!

I was happy with the line up, but it came quite appparent the formation was dodgy yet again and we were all too happy to sit back with 10 men behind the ball.

Injury before kick off, Butland penalty given away on debut & a goal disallowed. Apart from performances, things aren'tggoing our way which just compounds things.

i know it's difficult to be objective at the minute, but it's worth taking a minute to look at the stats. 60/40 play percentage, with 16/6 shots compared to our 15/6 shots. away from home, against a team firing for an automatic place and currently in second position. there are positives to take from the result.

time for more calm, steady nerves and less stamping of feet.

you always seem to think anyone not sharing the same view as you are stamping their feet and having a hissy fit.

Whether or not a team is going for promotion not does not excuse such negative tactics every week. were not talking about a one off game here its the same week in week out.

Maybe if we actually had a go at teams it would be us up there in the league. i have no doubt if Leicester sat 10 men behind the ball every week and only decided to play when losing they would be closer to where we are in the league

I'd agree. In isolation it's not a bad result, but as you say its hard to see it just that way.

Agree but you make your own luck. If you go into games with a negative mentality you won't get positive results.

Don't agree. If I didn't think he should be sacked before today, which I didn't, then a loss at Leicester wouldn't suddenly change my mind. I've seen much better Barnsley teams than this one go there and lose. I'm not saying we should just accept defeat against the top clubs, I was hoping we could get a result, but the bookies had Leicester down as favourites for a reason. It wasn't because Flicker is our manager, it's because they have better players than us.

The stats are an improvement but as you used to be able to say; look in t green un.

I wonder how much of our shots came when we HAD to change mentalities....I.e when the game was as good as lost

Well having slept on it, i have woke up with a much clearer head. Ignore my original post.
Yes things aren't good, but yesterday was much better than last week. The only thing that has annoyed me about yesterday is the fact that we put out a positive looking side, but still set up to defend, and in my book that's just wrong, especially with our defence. We should have pushed on more, and maybe just maybe we would have got something from the game. You could argue it might not have worked and we would have conceded more, but at least we would have given it a good go.

To be fair though it was Leicester, away from home, who are a good side, but still....

Anyway having watched the McCourt video, i think the answer lies there. Lets build the squad around Paddy, ALA Jacob Butterfield, and watch him chip in with plenty of assists and the odd goal or two, because he certainly has some unbelievable talent, and i don't think this league will be fully prepared for him. Of course there is still room Mellis, who can play in a similar role, not necessary in the same team as McCourt though, as we all know they aren't workhorses.

Lets hope the return of Pederson on Tuesday night can help us get a much needed 3 points, as we have really missed him.
