Floodlight failure....

..at Fratton Park. Has anything similar ever happened at one of our games?
Certainly can't recall owt personally.

 

It happened at Anfield in the early nineties in the cup and at Selhurst Park also in the nineties.

Never known it at Oakwell.

 

It happened at Peterborough in tha last couple of years

 

Was always suspected to be caused by Far East betting syndicates in the 90s and noughties

 

Peterborough away under Vivian in the league cup in the early 90s, lights out for a good half hour plus we had a couple of players sent off an'all if remember correctly ...........sithi.

We've had wheels fall off a lot too, last couple of seasons

 

Didn't that happen a few seasons ago too? I seem to remember a load of smoke and then the fire engines turned up

I've never seen that. When was that?

I've seen our floodlights go out a couple of times, years and years ago, I can't remember the games because it didn't cause a postponement, we got them back on, but I never saw a light fall from the pylon. I'm very interested to know when that was.

 

'kin 'ell. I now believe that did happen. Pylon between the Ponty and the West Stand. It wasn't a game when the floodlights were on, but one of the lamps fell out of it. You're right, but I forget the game it was, if you remember I'd be very interested to hear...

 

Can't remember the game but must have been around the John Beresford era as his sale paid for new ones

 

Think I may be off the mark here, but was it after the sale of Beresford that a few demonstrated near the tunnel, waving notes at Geoff Buckle?
Can recall the police stepping in and a few folk applauding them.

 

Can't remember that bit mate ... wouldn't surprise me though

 

I seem to remember one game, possibly Clarke Hunter era, when there was a decent crowd, full away end and the lights seemed to be off until just before kick off.
