Same everywhere mate. Just taken Amos & me 90 mins to get from deedar land. Long stretches of A61 under water.
We were forecast to have heavy rainfall and haven't seen a drop all day. The wind has been blowing a gale tho'.
Apprently Elsecar was bad. My 1736 "train" from Sheffield hadn't arrived in Barnsley by the time I'd managed to get into town at 1915. Sorry to moan, but I'm pithed off. TonyT
Bad at Wentworth Bridge Where the turn off for Hoyland is on the Chapeltown to Hoyland Common stretch. Managed to drive through about 3 feet of water but the car behind me ended up conking out in the middle. Must have gone over the top of his exhaust or maybe it was the wake from my car washing over his electrics. Didn't stop to find out.
That's because the line in Tarn is flooded. I come home from work via MeadowHell. The 1642, 1714 and 1742 services were all cancelled due to watter on t'tracks. Had to catch a bus in the end.
tell me about it im on call and ive had 6 call outs tonight because of manhole lids lifting with the water
Out of interest ... ... did they provide buses because the trains were cancelled? They made it sound like ours (1736) was the first to be cancelled and the first to have a bus replacment. If not, my situation was worse organised than I'd imagined.
RE: Out of interest ... No, they didn't. They planned to, but then discovered that they 'didn't have any extra buses.' I caught a regular Meadowhall to Barnsley service, for which I paid £2.10. Happily, I'm not working today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the problems are sorted when I go back tomorrow. (
