why is it so difficult to turn them off when you have turned the buggers on unnecessarily. Come on own up do you do this? 50-60% of drivers do.
When you brake I would rather like to clearly identify your brake lights from the version of blackpool illuminations you are displaying.
1. If you can see my headlights in the rear view mirror, I can see your normal lights so turn the buggers off. Sometimes other clues exist as to when you should switch them off - like when you can see the lights in the windows in Barnsley General Hospital from the M1 at Wooley for example may give some clue that your vehicle is visible from the rear.
2. Do the fog lights of the vehicle in front get on your tits? this should give you a clue.
GRRRRR(banghead) (NOOO) ( (NOOO) (banghead)
From the Highway Code(rulez)
211: You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 201) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves. Law RVLR regs 25 & 27

I used to agree with that, until I got my first 4x4 a couple of months ago. Now I drive round 3' off the ground with my fog light on permanently. I love it, I really do.
Worst thing is It's a company 4x4. So even if I slashed the tyres they'd be replaced at someone else's expense. Sod this 'PAYG' tracking system the Government seems keen to press ahead with and just introduce a 'tw@t tax' on people who think you need a mini tank to tackle UK roads.
well said Sod all the car tax & PAYG taxes, simply stick the fecker all on fuel and give companies the tax breaks on documented business mileage to compensate. Plus if you're a twit with a 4x4 and you cannot prove frequent justified off road use, double tax or firing squad...
Hear hear! That along with dodgy headlights, people who don't dip their full beam, people who don't indicate, people who don't indicate correctly, people who wait until the very last split second to make the 'gap' that existed only before they decided to hesitate for an hour, personalised plates, fins and spoliers on anything other than an F1 car, people who drive so close to the back of you they might as well be sat in the rear seat... I'm all hett up now, and I've hardly started.
Agree and with Rev and Gaz! Driving back from my brother's on Xmas day just over the tops, yes it was foggy but if I can see the ordinary rear lights of the car even further in front than you then you don't need your fog lights on!
You forgot The tossers who drive wearing baseball caps.. When did they start putting roofs on cars? Oh... and if you like **** music ( anything clubby really)... why do you think that everyone else wants to listen to it when you pull up at the traffic lights after driving a corsa around town for the 500th time in a night.
RE: You forgot On the subject of baseball caps (I'll admit to driving whilst wearing one but in my defence I was driving home from playing baseball!)........they probably don't even know it's a sports team let alone how the team is performing.
RE: You forgot So therefore not a baseball cap! I was meaning people specifically in baseball team caps....mainly Yankees hats....although at work when there was a sale (as their often is) in the canteen area, and they had one selling hats and bags etc and there was a sign saying they had all major designer brands and listed a few including "NY"! Even my ex got a bloke once who was wearing a Yankees cap and asked him about one of the players! He was completely lost for words!
RE: You forgot but you can argue that a baseball cap isnt a style of cap as it isnt a baseball shape nor made out of leather
You could indeed It's the style of cap isn't it. In that it's the type of cap worn to play baseball in. So strangely you can get a Barnsley FC baseball cap!
There is no defence If you must play baseball ( is that rounders for grown ups - see harry potter thread with 2 covers for the same book) At least take the cap off before driving home. When I ride a horse I dont drive home with the riding helmet still on
RE: You forgot Surely its a generic term for a style of headwear rather than specially being about baseball.
RE: You could indeed So its a style of cap named after the sport it was developed in. Therefore its a non specific cap style allowed to be worn by everyone from Yankeefiles to chavs for differing reasons.
Completely different game........oh and was just the once until I realised it's something that annoys me and other people weren't to know I'd been playing. Not as good as when we were playing in a 3 team series one Sunday and we played the 1st and 3rd games and nipped to the pub whilst the other 2 teams played.......so the whole team still in kit walking into the pub! Got back in time to see the other 2 teams fighting!
