Reminds me when I worked at Asda maintaining the warehouse computer systems, one night when I was on call I was phoned and the problem was "when it's printing the store name it's printing b*ll*cks" So I said "Do you mean it's just printing out info that doesn't make sense" "No - It's printing the word b*ll*cks" We found out that someone had been messing about and changing a store name on their system, but before they could put it right the system came down for the overnight processing which involved putting all the store orders on and picking up the information for the store so all the documents for the store got printed with a store name of "b*ll*cks" Quick fix solution, as everything was printed.....a marker pen to get rid of that before it was sent to the store. Couldn't prove who did it - we just knew which workstation and what time it had been done and left it with the warehouse manager.
I used to work for Lyons Bakery & as you can imagine, working there, Christmas starts early. Approximately 250,000 boxes of mince pies were produced one May & put into cold store. Later in the year they started to distribute them to the shops. It was only at this point that someone noticed a printing error on the cartons. On the top of the box it said "Lyons 6 Deep Filled Mince Pies", same again on all 4 sides & in smaller print on the back. The ingredients were listed & then below that "suitable for vegetarians. Below this were printed the words "Lyons 6 Deep Filled Mice Pies"!! Cue instant product recall but not all of them were traced. So, that Christmas, several households had boxes of mice pies. I wonder how many noticed! ff
