So clubs like Barnsley, Brentford, Sheff Utd and a few notable others look to take on young pros, develop them not just into professional footballers but into men ensuring that they conduct themselves in the right manner and earn their rewards in terms of big contracts and high profile transfers. Other clubs, the Liverpools, the Chelsea's and the man city's stack em high on sizeable long term deals hoping to develop 'the one' while loaning out every youth player they can for a fee and wages in full especially if clauses are not met. They bin off sharpish anyone who isn't close to making a decent grade on lower value transfers while those who do have some ability will get passed around like an old shoe in the hope they make the grade or sold off towards end of the contract with the fee reinvested into the academy structure to repeat the process. Given some of the stories I've heard about big club academies it's no wonder there are loads of kids burnt out with little or no future by the time they hit 21 years old.
