Had it for a few days and love it. Its a top game, however its slightly unrealistic. Played Liverpool in the Cup and I played a slightly attacking formation - I was 6-0 down after 35mins. Impossible to win away from home if you play with an attacking mentality. Rigters is valued at £2.6m! Derby turned down a £900,000 bid for Nyatanaga Jamil Adam valued at £750,000 - he's still 18! and I've only played him for a few mins a game. He did score though. very addictive game though.
I'm **** at it. Just got to January as Barnsley and after a reasonable start to the season, we have since dropped quicksharp to the bottom. So I have got fed up and just started a new game as Rangers.
1st season as Barnsley boss I have finished 5th defeated Derby in the PO Semi and Now play Birmingham in the final - this minute....
Started as Cowdenbeath....and started badly! 08/09 Div 3 - 6th 09/10 Div 3 - 1st 10/11 Div 2 - 8th 11/12 Div 2 - 2nd (lost play off final) 12/13 Div 2 - 1st 13/14 Div 1 - currently 4th. turned down loads of approaches from english clubs like Notts County ans Bournemouth and the like. My squad just don't get o though. Anyone know how to sort out the lack of harmany at a club? i really must get a life!!!!
i'm 13th. midway through 1st season unbeatable at home, can score for toffee away from home. sounds familer. I signe Mifsud and he's been great. scored 11 goals. Highlight so far was a 93rd minute Leon free kick from 30 yeards to rescue a point. I've put the full data base on, but I cant find Bogdanovic or Werling.
Are u tactically very good Nutkins? I don't suppose you use default tactics do you, or you use your own?
RE: i'm 13th. midway through 1st season The game has been updated hasn't it? Mine as anyway, Bogdanovic, Mifsud, and Andranik all at Barnsley. Aswell as Werling in the Huddersfield reserves, hes got decent ratings on it too.
Championship Manager loaded the game off here, but not the updates, and started as Barnsley. Reyt team - Sheron, Dyer, Paul Bernard (?), Kevin Dixon, Chettle, Dangerous Brian. Got Big Rory leading the line. £3.7 million (!) to buy players. Started well and with a few shrewd buys (Barkilogu), am up near the top of League 1 (Championship as is now). As a game, I like Champmanger 01-02 better than FM2009. FM2009 is better technically, but gets too involved for my liking. I can understand why there is still a strong community playing the older game.
RE: Championship Manager That's the best version of the game imo. Get the Scandinavian players in for peanuts, then sell em on.
I've used my own that I stumbled across after about 15 games when i was lower half and not winning. I then went on a run to the end of the season.</p> I've bought pretty well as well I would think.</p> If you want to know my formation etc then PM me.</p> I've never been one for asking who people buy and what formation cos I want to try and beat it myself but I can give a few tips if you'd like?</p>
mine automatically downloads updates via steam but they're not on there JCR never seems to play well for me. Anderson is always very good.
They're on the new patch, which should download automatically if you are running through steam. You'll probably have to start a new game though.
As per my post on the FM forum In the Prem in 4th season after winning play off final last season, won 3 drawn 2 and lost 2 after 7 games, 8th!! Won't last though as got Liverpool away and Manure next 2 games when I get home tonight!
Thanks alot for the offer mate but like you, I also prefer to figure things out for myself. I have gone back to the very basics for the time being and will hopefully evolve a tactic from there. Sounds like ur doing really well tho so keep up the good work. I love to hear stories of people doing well with Tarn, altho there is part of me thats bitter cos i'm so **** at it ;-) I used to love FM05 cos I was so dominant. Saviola and Chevanton up front were awesome for my all-conquering Villa side back then - I have just signed Saviola for Rangers now in the hope he can bring my glory days back lol
I\'m in my 4th season with Barnsley, 1st season relegated to L1. i lost Muller and Souza , i won L1 with 110Points, then signed Daniel Sturridge fromMan City, he scored 48 goals in his first season, i beat Swansea 3-0 in theplay off Final, not started the Prem yet, but i had to sell sturridge, i got 8.6m for him.
I beat Brum in playoff final 1st season. Next couple of seasons after that just survived relegation from Premier League. Season after got some decent free transfers/ better class of players interested in joining TARN. Qualified for Champions League. the next season. Tough group though, ended up dropping into UEFA cup, play Rangers when cup kicks off again.
Shrewsbury manager for 7 seasons. Won 2 play-offs for promotion to the championship and stayed up on the last day despite being in bottom 3 all season (sent dirty leeds down to league 1). Was offered, and accepted. the forest job prior to the last day and delayed it until after the game. Addicted isn't in it.!
Leicster manager in the championship in my 3rd season. 2nd with Reading at the top cruising. Lost in play off final the season before and came 2nd in league 1 the season before that. Got a reyt squad. Opare, Binya, Mascio, Regini, A couple of Quality regens.
