villa have had a bid for hourihane accepted but if it falls through then celtic/rangers are coming in for him and he'll not be in the squad for fa cup. wigan have also accepted a bid off us for morsy................................. don't shoot me i'm only the messenger
Thought we'd been told we weren't selling unless a silly offer came in.... Although Villa would have the funds to make a silly offer.
Would be a good move for Villa, but a poor one for Conor. They may well have the cash to go to £10 million, but we should definitely hold out, as he is under contract until the summer. If Conor waits, he really should get a current and strong premiership team coming in for him. Rangers would be a big step down for him. Celtic would give him Champions League status, but how much would they offer in terms of both fee and wages? He has said that he will put off all contract talks until the summer and I think this shows more and more than he is just keen on keeping focussed on this club and how far it can go. he is obviously enjoying both playing in his current role and being captain. I think that the talk is rubbish, but there is bound to be interest from other clubs in a lot of our players. if we get to the play-offs, or better, he will surely stay. Best thing we can do with the cash in hand is to secure our best young players on longer-term contracts. I am sure the club will be trying to do just that. Conor can't afford to be the next Mawson. It grieves me to see him floundering in such a downwardly-mobile Swansea team and not getting the developmental input he was having with us. He moved too soon. Conor could learn something from that.
This is the same site that said Winnall would be leaving after the Birmingham game to go to Huddersfield
This site may be ******,I don't know.. but we have never said we won't sell.. but we don't have to, cos of the Stones- Alfie money. folk shouldn't stick their head too far into the sand. Connor and others will be attracting interest from clubs who have money to burn... Prem moneys, wealthy backers or parachute payments. But with players in the last months of their contract here.... am sure the club will know who is likely to stAY and who isn't. If an expectable offer comes in and if the player wants to move, then so be it. We let go and we build again. Best not to get too attached to anybody really, football is a very transient profession
If you were a club like Villa with millions to spend and a good shot at getting to 6th for the playoffs, how much would half a season of Hourihane be worth? Given he gives you statistically a goal or an assist every game besides his many other attributes? I'd say it probably is worth upwards of 4-5 million, that there are clubs with that at their disposal and that I would understand if we accepted if offered that. I'd be very disappointed though, it would feel like the end of the season.
