hope you don't mind a Bristol City fan coming on your boards with some local info
Firstly hope as many of as possible can make the trip to Bristol on sat 31st january
If you can buy yer tickets in advance to get any discounts from your own ticket office
If you want to buy your tickets in advance please don't ring the Bristol City premium rate phone number.
If you are bringing your children with you and they still look "YOUNGISH"(the children not you) up to about seven years of age speak to the chief steward or turnstile operator supervisor
before handing over your cash in the turnstiles
no unkind comments please its your money I'm trying to keep in your pockets
The club charges for credit card bookings and also charges a pound if you want the tickets sent to your home
best advice is send a cheque for the amount and pick up tickets on the day
If you are one of those fans who like to keep ticket stubs of your away games no ticket stubs are issued at the turnstiles
either book the tickets in advance as suggested or purchase from the Bristol city ticket office on the day
We have a new ticketsystem at Ashton just put your purchased in advance ticket with the bar code towards the "HOLE" coloured portion facing upwards
    into said ticket machine
If you are coming by road use M5 southbound to junction 18(avonmouth) then follow signs A4 bristol airport
It looks the long way round but traffic in central Bristol is awfull
If you are coming by train
Try to use the the local railway station to parson street it takes you two thirds of the way to the ground
as public transport to Ashton gate is very poor
The ground is designated not smoking but there always seem to be load of *** ends by the toilet block
Bristol City produce a match day DVD of all home games cost is 12 pounds
with full commentry not sure of the postal charges
Casualty and Hobly City are filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes cos I think thier both crap
The young ones was also filmed in the BS7 area of the City
    (actually its Bishopston)
Finally the block of flats on the right hand side as you are in the away end is "the" block of flats in "fools and horses"
The market scene where the footballers manaquins are cut into the wall are at the away end of the ground in the club car park
Bring yer camera and turn up early if you wanna take any photo's
Be prepared to be searched by the stewards.
You will be most likely designated a police free match
so if you see any police at the game they will be Yorkshire police
or Avon and Somerset Police on "AWARENESS" excercise
regarding the food outlet in the ground its crap, staffed by agency staff whose purpose is to do as little as possible
KFC can be seen from the away end(two minutes walk, honest) and sainsburys store is five minutes
    with restaurant
pubs possibly best one are in the cumberland road basin area novia scotia pump house
no booze is sold in the ground
buy your match day programme before you enter the your away end
BBC Radio station is radio bristol which has frequenceys of 95:5 and 94:9 1548
Last season you brought 357 fans not sure if you can beat this figure this time round,I know things are difficult for a lot of people not just footy fans,so lets see what happens

If you want or need any further local info please don't be afraid to ask.

    Hello There

I don't envy our fans making the trip to yours. I watched you on Sultana against Pompey and thought the scoreline flattered them. I also watched you last Saturday against Wolves, where you outplayed your opponents again (although Adebola fouled to go through). To not win either match you were unfortunate.

last time I went (2003 - we lost 2-1) the fecking stupid stewards sent us to a pub called The Robin (I think) and said we would be fine

it was full of bloody home fans who were all singing all to the Wurzels with great enthusiasm

    talk about feeling uncomfortable

I think going to a pub called The Robin without something in your head thinking 'aye up...' means you deserve to get what you got lmao

    Designated a 'police free match'......

....... deary me, I hope not, especially as we might be lucky to have 250 of us there!

The last two 'designated police free' games we had were Southampton away 07/08 (world war 3 broke out) and Wolves away 07/08 (large scale bedlam) ...... and if we have the same walk back to the coaches this season that we had last season (to that industrial estate behind a derelict boozer) with no coppers about, it won't be very pleasant!

    Was just thinking the same

Thats another away match I wont be travelling to. Watching the reds roll over and then getting chased round by the local knuckle draggers isnt my idea of fun.

    Be interesting to know

If the local police know about the trouble at Southampton and Wolverhampton or if they think it wont happen at Bristol because they arent a hampton.
