that had the privilege to see Ronnie Glavin in his playing days, never have I heard or seen anything written that pulls this mans footballing ability down or anything he did personally whilst at Barnsley. He is a BFC legend. Is he the last true legend? Will there ever be another reds player that will be unanimously worshipped?
Who says that he was unanimously worshipped. Not everyone thought that jogging around for 85 minutes then scoring what was probably a good goal, constituted legendary performances.
Ronnie Glavin is the greatest player I've ever seen play for Barnsley No one else comes even close on ability. Never asked for a transfer, either.
RE: Sorry mate. Just had to do a quick edit. he was one of my early hero's. my first match was 1981? fa cup at home v enfield and then went to every home game that year and then season ticket for next plenty. legend.
RE: Ronnie Glavin is the greatest player I've ever seen play for Barnsley He was rubbish, never did owt other than score 90 odd goals and set plenty of others up and get from one box to the other without ever seeming to brealk sweat. Rubbish I tell you !!!!!
imagine... a slightly taller, slightly podgier, definitely whiterversion of JCR of could get the ball on the edge of his own area, carry it the full length of the pitch beating 3 or 4 players, drawing the goalie and slotting it underneath him on a regular basis. Oakwell was electric in those days, as soon as he got the ball, the expectancy ran through the crowd, GOOOO ON!!!
RE: imagine... what he said... there has been nobody since who electified the crowd like Glav and I mean nobody
