Brian Shaughnessy Seventh Son singer recent ODS singer , although I have seen him driving a tractor at Cawthorne Park
Ah! I'm out of date. Remember in my youth going to see them at the Fforde Green in Leeds. A legendary (and very drunken) night!
Brian has been frontman for ODS and now GOA since 2011. A great article mate on Seventh sons Facebook page where Brian gets interviewed on his continuing career with them since they set up in 1980. As for Graham Oliver. A very unassuming man. We were chatting once and realised growing up he knew my Mrs family from Mexborough. Chatted to him on several occasions since. Once when he played lead in a T Rex tribute band. Like the bit by Brian in the write up in the ODS album Blood and Thunder. (Great album btw). where he pays tribute to Percies pork pies. Athersley man I believe.
Good grief .. you were lucky to come out of there alive… bit of an over exaggeration but it had a bit of a reputation for gun related incidents in the 70’s and 80’s
It was a lively night that night as I recall, x11. About 1979-80 I think. Three of us went over to Leeds in my ancient VW Beetle. We had a fair few, and snuck back behind stage at the end. The lads were great (very loud!), and gave us autographs and badges and the like. When we came out, my mate nipped up a banking at the side and relieved himself behind a tree. His manhood was suddenly illuminated by a PC with her torch who issued advice to "put it away". We apologised and were watched back to the car by the officer with advice to get on our way, in terms! Things is, she ushered us away with me three sheets to the wind behind the wheel! It could have been the end of a promising legal career! The folly of youth, eh?
