    Talking of Pitches

    A while back I was chatting to someone who worked at Blackpool. Amongst the stories he told me was one about the pitch.
    Apparently the Chairman would not sanction the purchase of new turf for the pitch, just grass seed. And not grass seed for sports pitches, just the cheapest seed you can get..... I think we all know what happened next.

    Malaga's pitch got relaid 3 times last season. It didn't help when Valencia nicked the groundsman and then later on the grass caught a virus causing it to be relaid again!
