JIM WHITE (he's my uncle btw): I'm delighted to say that Mido joins us live from Oakwell, this Thursday afternoon..Mido, good afternoon, no doubt Barnsley fans thrilled about this, why have you chosen to go there? MIDO: Yeah I came here last week to meet the manager, and I like what he said to me, and I like his plans here, and I think it's a club with a lot of passion and hopefully me coming here will help them. JIM: I'm sure a Championship club with as you say a lot of passion, but they finished one, one place Mido above relegation last season, so they wanna start going up that table, can you help them do that? MIDO: Yeah hopefully, I know there is some new signings here, and it's a very tough competition much harder than people really think, and there is a lot of good teams, and some good teams who got relegated from the Premier League so.... it will be difficult, but with the hard work here I think we can do well and get ourselves in a good position in the table. Then Jim asks him about why he left Egypt and Zamalek, to which Mido says "the revolution happened, the league stopped" and that he wanted to come back to Europe, and that "Barnsley is a very important step in my career, and hopefully I can do well here". He then gets asked about Egypt again, and says that Zamalek is still running, but had to get rid of top earners, before he states that "Barnsley is a very good chance to be back". He is asked why England, and says it's the best league in the world etc. Says after spells in France, Holland and Italy, his best experience and the best league that fits his style of play was England. Jim asks if he still follows Spurs and Boro. Mido says Spurs is his favourite English club, still has friends there etc. Jim asks about Spurs managers job and he said Laurent Blanc would do well there. He then gets asked about England and Euro 2012 - boring. Then ends by saying better days are ahead for Egypt after the elections.
dont know why he had to make it clear that we only just escaped relegation last season. He may as well have said WTF you doing signing for Barnsley
