Just downloaded the new FM Scout utility... It allows you to see the Ability and Potential Ability ratings plus their Free Role ratings etcetera. If, like me, you're a bit naff at the game it can come in really useful...

Kenny Deuchar's the best from Gretna. You can get him pretty cheap. Also I got Luke Steele from...Man Utd I think. Brilliant keeper. Lewis Edge from Blackpool's pretty good. Stuart Tomlinson as well. I went a bit keeper mad a while ago. ff I got this Pompey player for 22k when he was worth 120k, can't really remember his name though. I saw one of my other signings on the TV yesterday as well - Jaime Peters. I also had someone called Gary Roberts or something like that, and there was someone playing with the same name in the same game, not sure whether it was the same player or not, since my signing had blonde hair, not black.
I'll hold my hands up mate!!! It is the only way I can play the game with any degree of success I'm afraid - in the past when I've played without it I've really struggled to win games and it's just got boring losing all the time... It's not an editor though and I only really look at the Ability / Potential Ability / Free Role stat... Honest!
I know what you mean mate Ive never cheated on it like, but CM3 became so hard for me I stopped playing for a loooong time. CM4 came out and I had to change my thinking completely, otherwise i'd never get back into it. Now im far better at the game. I would suggest though going onto the SI community forums into the tactics and training tips section as there is some invaluable much needed help in there - without having to cheat your results will improve if you digest whats in there.
