FOR GOD'S SAKE COME ON AND GET TOGETHER!

I'm not sure what's more depressing, reading some of the comments on here or the defeat yesterday.

I went to the game (row i, seat 60, which incidentally is not a good one as the goals posts are just at the wrong height for good viewing!). No, it was not vintage stuff, but we had an intense period towards the end of the first half and we were unlucky not to be 1-0 up going into the interval. Quite simply we never got a break, and Blackpool did from a lot less chances. I left the game feeling at worse we deserved a draw.
But I also left the game wondering what Barnsley fans are all about. I'm relatively new to the Tykes because I'm a fan due to the Mifsud factor, but I'm a Tyke now and that is all that should matter. I've bought my shirt, I buy my ticket, I shout 'Come on Barnsley'.
Barnsley fans could learn a lot from Blackpool. I went to the Coventry game at home against Blackpool where the Seasiders had a drummer and sang from start to finish despite getting beat!!!
At Barnsley yesterday a large majority booed etc etc etc - well people, that is not going to help your team. It's too late in the season to change the manager now so get behind what you have and sing from start to finish, not just when the ball comes down to your net. Trust me....it will have more effect.
As for Mifsud, there is some rubbish on here about him not being good enough for the championship etc etc. He was Coventry's top goal scorer last season with 17 goals and he scored twice against Blackburn and Man U. If you play to his strengths - lightening pace etc etc he will score. If you think he's Peter Crouch he won't. He's also a confidence player and Coventry did its best to dent his confidence - I've now been to five Tyke matches and not once have the crowd sung him a song or got behind him.
You have the power to help keep Barnsley - and we are without doubt good enough to be there - in the Championship which I hope and guess is what we all want that talk passionately about the game - please don't help send them down. I beg you.

I could set myself on fire and run along the front of the stand waving a barnsley flag it wouldn't help us win while simon davey is telling his defence to ignore the four people in front of them and hit the ball long and high to 6'7" mifsud or telling/allowing JCR to stroll around like patrick cryne has just given him the club

James G I've no idea but that is not relevant - on the basis you are a Tyke born and bread you want to be in the Championship don't you? All I'm saying is that booing and shout sack this person sack that person is not going to help the cause - the club needs to be lifted out of the doldrums, not put futher in them. But try it your way and see how it works.....

 

Next time Kozluk hits a high ball to Mifsud I'll cheer and shout encouragement

You are not effective in our team as we don't play the ball through the midfield and then play the ball in behind the opposition defence for you to run on to!

 

He's currently putting money into the clubs coffers by attending games, so he'll do for me

Hey redders we all know we have no rights to anything - but we do have a team that is capbale of playing well on a going day, as they did at the dreaded Wednesday and against QPR. I just want everyone to get behind them. The atmosphere at home is all wrong, and I think the players will feed off that.....
