for me, we need to take some of the attacking element out of our play

with Devaney, Howard & Mcindoe bombing forward at every opportunity it often leaves Togwell overwhelmed and the defence exposed to the counter attack. Maybe when we play away its time to give two out of those three a rest and bring in more solid midfielders who will hold the line more solidly.

Oh sorry, silly me, there are no viable alternative midfielders. What was I thinking of?

    exactly................

we haven't got any viable alternatives.

Healy, Mcparland, wroe, tonge and a couple of kids. Theres masses of in-depth experience and talent there, isn't there?

We have a squad of 29

listed players on the back of the programme, generally picked to play ARs style of attacking play, I think what you are saying in so many words is get rid of the lot, including the manager and start again ???

    no I'm not........

what I am saying is that beyond the first 11 there is very little experience, there seems to be no viable alternative to the current midfield 4 and if there was, maybe we could be a little less gung ho away from home.

Never mentioned the words sack or manager. Just think we need to strengthen in that area.

out of the 28, 9 are young kids who will hardly get a sniff of first team action this season

so that narrows the proper squad to 19, discounting the first eleven yesterday, the 9 reserves are:

    Hecky

    Austin

    Healy

    Mcparland

    Nads

    Tonge

    Wroe

    Wright

    whoopee doo!!!

    Coventry have 23 players listed

that is 6 players they can recruit before they get to our level of squad . What I want to know is how when we are cash strapped can we get rid of those we dont want when they are contract ? in order to bring in those we do want ( on the same pay as those we are getting rid of) and where do we get those players from ? Dont get me wrong I too am up to the gullet with the crap football but I dont see a quick way out, I am resigned to a long, long hard road ahead. I know its chicken and egg but with av.gates like we are getting and likely to get in the near future the only way is a long steady slog . One thing we can do tho is be the 12th man, the support at the ground is pathetic..........

no what what we need is for the attack to not **** it up!

yesterday we attacked and everyone flew forward and stupid arse williams stopped, put his foot on the ball and played it back - at this point half the squad was infront of the ball. Then devaney gave it away and we were all over the place!

What is needed is a little more control on who bombs forward, how far they bomb forward and also a PROPER STRIKER that can do his job. Richards will never make it as a PROPER STRIKER! He does not lead the line, hes not aggresive enough, he drops deep too oftem, he wont work hard enough, his shooting is abysmal and finally his heading and positional play are woeful.
