...to doubt Keith Hill. Granted he did a sterling job up until Xmas and had the rug pulled from under him by the loss of Butterfield, Drinkwater & Vaz Te. That would be enough to derail most teams but some of his recent signings, tactics and team selections have been worrying and at times downright bizarre. If Dagnall and Golbourne are an indicator to the calibre of players we are looking to sign in the summer then we are nailed on for the drop next term. I don't think I have ever seen a player look as out of depth at this level as Dagnall does. I pray Keith is honest enough to admit he was a mistake and moves him on in the summer. Golbourne has looked piss poor as a wide midfielder but did look a little better a full back for the last half hour today. I do worry that he doesn't look srong enough for the challenges he'll face at Championship level though. Hill's handling of Davies also raises concerns. He needs to be played as a centre forward pure and simple. 11 goals tells it's own story and he's been feeding on scraps. I really can't see us topping 50 points given the tough run in we face which is hardly going to inspire many to renew season tickets for next season. Mr Hill is going to face a real tough task finding the necessary talent we need this summer. On my shopping list would be:- 2 (or maybe 3) strikers A good stong centre half Al least one wide player A midfield playmaker I'd be looking to move on the following players:- Gray, Dagnall, McEverley, Preece and probably Hassell. Bobby has been a great servant but time I think has probably caught up with him.
Don't worry, Keef will get more signings right than he gets wrong. We've had loads of players look out of their depth and after significantly longer in the team than Dagnall. He deserves a chance and if things dont work out for him I'm pretty sure Hill will move him on. Hills having to rebuild after losing several key players and it will take time but he will get it right.
he hasn't done too much wrong, most people though he would struggle in the summer but hes done great so far with the problems he's faced. I think we will be stronger next season
