I think there's more people being optimistic than those bellowing how terrible we are, how we never spend any money and how it's a certainty that we're going to be playing for the paint pot next year... That's what Flicker has done to us and it's brilliant! I'll admit to not getting down to Oakwell as much as I should have this season but I'll be there for the Hull game and hopefully I'll be at Huddersfield for the final game to cheer the lads on whatever happens. Even if it ends up that we're already down by the Huddersfield game, Flicker gave us a fighting chance and the lads need praise for that. We've almost had that chance taken away through suspensions and injuries but we're still fighting! We lost 6-0 on Saturday but we're still fighting! I wasn't there to see RNL tonight but it sounds like even our youngsters are giving 100%. They want to be playing Championship football next season as much as we want to be watching it and that's all down to Flicker! 3 games, 9 points. It's not over yet. http://youtu.be/LanCLS_hIo4?t=14s
I will hold my hands up and shout that I was wrong if we stay up, but I am not optimistic that we will now. I think it is great that some people are, like you say, surprising numbers. However, I think it may be a touch of blind optimism coming in now - a bit like when your girlfriend dumps you and runs off with your mate, and you tell everyone through the pain that you are fine and lets go for a curry, when all you want to do is blub! We need at least one away win from 2 games, both of which look very hard. And that's assuming we beat the team that will finish runners up in our last home game. Just when we look to have run out of steam and can't put out our strongest team.
