At start of season I thought we would be in a mini league of about 7 teams including Crystal palace, watford, Millwall, Charlton, Peterborough, & Bristol City. Unfortunately, I think the first 4 have amassed enough points for us not to catch them (even if one of them has a bad run, I can't see us catching them) SWFC and Ipswich got dragged down, but it looks like Ipswich are now pulling away, resulting in a probable 3 from 4. Bristol City obvioulsy dont care about FFP rules and will probably try and buy their survival, as will Mandaric. I really can see us finishing bottom 2. In January Tudgay will leave, and i'm not sure if I rate Greening (although I think Sun had him as MoM yesterday). So our team will probably be weaker. I really hope that Davies and Steele are made to see out their contracts and try and avoid relegation, even if it means them leaving on a free, but I think we will probably cash in on both of them before the end of January. I also think Stones wil be sold in January or summer to balance the budget for next season. It is also likely that foster and Hassell will not be retained next season, leaving just OBrien as the only player i would consider good championship quality. We will then have a league 1 team on league 1 wages playing in league 1. and then I don't see us getting out of league 1 for a good while.

At the start of last season I was all for Hill and thought we would get better and better and really push on. It just hasn't happenend. I thought i would prefer to see entertaining football rather than grind out the dour 1-0 wins we had under Robins. But now I'm not so sure. I was against a takeover, and some mercenary coming in and stripping my club, and putting up the prices. However, I realise that at least we would have a chance of survival in the short term, although the ST prices would probably go up and price me out of going. Would I rather go and watch a team in league 1 every other week, or listen to championship match commentaries on player - I don't know. Maybe if i thought Hill was playing his best players, i might think more of him, but i don't like his agenda. My worry is that PC has long ago accepted that we are really a league 1 team punching above our weight, and that KHs brief was to assemble a team capable of competing in league 1 on league 1 wages and that is why he is not offering any of the current championship quality players new contracts. And if this is the case, then Hill is probably here to stay, certainly for the start of next season. Lose on Sunday, and I think Hill will lose the crowd. But he is arrogant and egotistical and he probably wont even care. he certainly isnt going to walk as he knows he'll get a years salary if pushed. I wish i knew what the solution was. Rant over.

Your wrong on your main point. We won't be relegated. We will be safe with a few games to spare.

we just need a couple of midfielders and a decent striker and we'll be alright :D

More midfielders! We will be playing Keeper---10---0 formation if we get any more. If the post had read "a couple of centre backs" then yes. Wiseman is not Championship quality as a CB, McNulty is not Championship quality as a CB, Foster and Hassell have been terrific servants to the club but are no longer Championship quality CB, Collins and Edwards not yet had the chance to prove themselves as Championship quality CB, Crainie better in front of the CBs, not a Championship quality CB. Perkins, not a CB etc. Millwall have romped up the league with Beevers and Sheetu as CBs. Starting from now I still have hope. Eight wins and eight draws ( nine defeats) will see us to fifty points. Optimism rules.

Ever since we got promoted we have always been favourites to go down. But, I never believed we would. I don't know what it was, but I just never believed that we would be relegated. I thought it feels right for us to be in the league and I always thought we had the squad to stay in the division. This season however, I think it is a real possibility. In fairness, I am more optimistic since we made these few loan signings. January will be crucial

I'm with Eddie on this I think we will be relegated this year especially if Hill gets all season to try and turn it round. Our record over the last 12 months has been appalling and he has shown that for that length of time he can't turn it round! I'm not saying that a change of manager will mean we will be safe but I think with Hill in charge we will go down and don't really understand some people's optimism with Hill! At least with a new man in charge he might just bring some new ideas play our best players in the right positions and we can give it a real go!
Hope I'm proven wrong and we give the De Dah's a good old spanking on Saturday and kick on. Up the reds
