    both have the same report from the same writer, paul jiggins.
    is it common, because i've never noticed two big national papers use the same person

    Freelance journalists regularly write 2-4 reports on one game to make themselves more money...

    They're usually different length and different style though so he's got lucky if they're exactly the same report.

    Probably then yes, but it's possible to have a contract with one paper and still work for others depending on your contract.
