    .... Mi Mam used to talk about a shop or mebbies a market stall in tarn that she referred to as the "I buy owt"

    I can only think she was talking about a pawn shop or similar where they would buy and sell second hand stuff.

    Anybody else heard of it?

    I have.

    Light bulbs.
    A light bulb pops every couple of years in my house.
    All of a sudden I fit the ones from the Supermarket & they're blowing easier than Devine Brown on speed.
    Cheap suppliers.
    Easily pleased consumers who only care about the price on the day.

    Mark my words - all these bulb shenanigans will end in tears.

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention though.

    On the left hand side about 100 yards down from't Ebineezer church.
