    Re: I was at...

I was just to about turn 10 years old but fortunately I cannot remember this occasion.

My father obviously had the good sense to make sure I was otherwise engaged.
Unfortunately I've had the misfortune to be reminded of it at every conceivable opportunity.

But I must say no way did that ball cross the line so really you won it by default. :p ;)

    Re: I was at...

At my grandparents in Buxton, they didn't have a telly...they didn't have mains electric! Luckily granddad's best mate a few streets away had both. Watched completely in awe and amazement with dad and granddad, I'd never heard language like it from either of em, before or after...Both had passed away within a few years later...One of the greatest memories of my life, will shed a few tears on the 30th.

No, I was seven and I'm not sure if I do remember it. I may do or I might just have seen it so many times. The first game I know I saw was the 67 cup final between Chelsea and Spurs.

It was just before my 18th birthday and I was on an outward bound course in Switzerland.

Watched the final with my mates and a load of German youths in a bar on a mountainside.

It was a great atmosphere with no trouble at all, although the staff cleared all the glasses and bottles by kick off.

A great memory, which will always stay with me along with the second half of last season.

I remember that I missed the kick off and when I got home England were 1-0 down. I had gone down to the fishing pond down Mitchell's. I watched the rest of the game. The tournament must have done something for me as I became a regular supporter at Oakwell the following season. Yes the one where we almost went bust. The only home game I missed was our 1st home will 2-1 against Luton. I was at a wedding.
