Id sit howard on the reserve team bench for the remainder of the season. Then see where he ends up, the spoilt, childish, arrogant little overrated ******. Also, can I bring up the point of how Davey must feel. All summer long he's kept a trouble maker in the squad, only to please the fans, who is making noises about the club being at fault for his failure to sign a contract, and then when the story finally comes out, he is blamed for the situation. Come on you so called supporters, sort yourselves out!
I think you're overreacting a bit And I don't think that the club can afford to waste £500k like that either.
Who made the said player captain? If thgings were as bad as they are now being said, why did Davey not relieve him of the captaincy? Davey is supposed to be a hard liner, if he is then why let someone that is so bad be the CAPTAIN, the one HE PICKED? I think that the club are just putting their own spin on things and the truth is somewhere halfway between what we have been hearing from both sides.
RE: Who made the said player captain? For once I agree, why was he captain? However, I fully believe everything in the statement.
all we'll hear from howard is... when he join the blunt and gives an interview.... saying hes happy to be playing for them and he just wants to knuckle down and play..... might even say hes thankful to barnsley but i wont hold my breath
The club have obviously been bending over backward to get him to sign a new contract and hoped he would change his stance especially after ther were no offers for him in the summer. Relieving him of the captaincy is a brilliant way to start negotiating a new contract.
I dont believe half of what I have heard about this situation . The contact thing is strange, because didnt Howard himself said he wanted to sign a new contract before the end of last season?
How can you say that for sure? What if he wanted parity with someone like Steel for example and the club said no?
well i've always stuck up for the little ****,but i dont want any player at our club if they dont want to wear the red and white with pride. Carn't wait to give him the reception he deserves when he comes back!!!!!!!!!!!
he didn't even give them a chance mate. if you read statement from official site "the club has been prepared at all times to offer new contract terms to brian to keep himwith the reds but his representativeshave declined that opportunity" we were willing to bust the bank for phillips, whats to say we wouldn't have done the same for brian given the opportunity??
I'd still love to know What happened to the rumours, coming from Howard & his agent, over moves to Everton, Aston Villa etc. Nothing! Just goes to show his mentality.
Statement doesn't say owt abart matching Steele's terms breaking the bank or **** all. It says they were willing to discuss a new contract...was it better than the old one? was it on terms to equal recent signings if their wages are to be believed? who knows..........Mr Cryne, Davey, Howard & his agent and thats all, nobody on here that's for certain.
HJoward and his Representatives kept saying that no one had talked to them reHoward's contract. The 'bad mouthing' of the Manager really got to me.</p> I know that City Tyke posted about what Howard was saying about the Manager and Club.</p> I have no time for that.</p> Howard was our captain and should have remained loyal at all times.</p> </p> I knew this anyway from other quarters, fans have spoken a great deal about Howard's 'bad mouthing' - Howard bad mouthing the manager and continually saying that he had 'lost the dressing room'</p> My binoculars showed otherwise - good interaction on the bench, supportive and congratulatory from both Davey with his players and from the extra coaching team. </p> It seems as if Howard was a bad apple.</p> I have his name on my shirt - just like I did with McIndoe</p> -both signed - what do I do?</p> Gutted </p>
