Davies: Pulled off an exceptional and key save with 10 minutes gone, against the run of play. Different game perhaps had that gone in. Claimed every cross or hoofed ball all afternoon. 9 Bree: Was an outlet down the right first half especially with Scowen tending to tuck in. Second half he had Cotterill to contend with and bossed him til he was subbed off. Left Scowen isolated once or twice but a solid display. 8 Angus: Outstanding. Won everything in the air and plenty on the floor. 8 Roberts: Same as Angus. Plus a goal. 8 Yiadom: He and Kent ran the young Brum full back ragged first half. Too adventurous on occasion but we got away with it. Not his best game but he has set a really high bar this season. 7 Scowen: Played wide right but tucked in out of possession. Some of his trapping and technical work was top class. Never stopped working. And did offer width when required. A real asset. Will play anywhere and do a job. 8 Hourihane: Controlled midfield with Morsy. Unbelievable work rate. Not everything came off but that left foot was magical again. He nearly always has a say on every game. Three assists. Led the side vocally. Never satisfied. He is some player. 8 Morsy: My man of the match. Never gave Brum a chance to get into a groove. Always ratting, wins nearly every duel he enters and is more than just a stopper. Lovely vision. Reminds me of Brownhill but better. Wigan must have a right midfield... 9 Kent: Some of his technical stuff is world class level. Seriously. Benefit of being genuinely two footed. Our go-to man first half. Harshly booked in my opinion and should have had at least one penalty and scored at least one goal. Drifts in and out a little but he's a young winger. It's natural. 8 Winnall: Grafted throughout. Won a silly amount of duels. Some of his decision making let him down but pops up with two incredible headers and could easily have scored two hat-tricks on another day. 44 goals in 90 starts. Super. 9 Bradshaw: Linked brilliantly with those around him. Very unselfish player. Never stops running. Unlucky not to score. 8 *opinions are mine and not endorsed by BFC
Thanks Whitey. I've been wanting Morsey at the club for a couple of years. He seems to be loving it here so really hope we can get him on the perm books at the end of the season. I love this group of players. Josh is a key player for us. Proper utility man. Also really pleased to hear that Tom B had a decent game. I've heard he is also pleased to be hear even if he hasn't had a regular starting place. Reason? Apparently the quality of the coaching versus what he had at Walsall.
