For those of a certain age - the UDM Offices have been demolished

I was there yesterday working on the site - a site, which I told my work colleagues, I wouldn't have been allowed to visit a few years ago for fear that I would have been chased out of the area where I live

Houses are currently been built on the site.

By the way...............Arthurs Castle remains intact

 

I wonder where the money went this time? Someone lookup Greatrex or Stephens in jail...

Really, do I have to explain that he mentions UDM and NUM just to provoke a response. I pass several places in Nottingham and other places that I picketed during the miners strike, but don't feel I have to post on here. Even though I have many fond memories of times in the company of striking Notts Miners. I notice you say 'us' are you now a spokesperson for posters on this board? I suppose you need a break from constantly berating anything BFC.

Tbh I only answered the second part as I didn't give a flying fek about the first.but for what its worth I hope when they put down the foundations that the fekin miners pension pinching thatcher loving scab is put under them. ( Greatrex.)

The UDM Offices were an important part of peoples lives around here........these offices were on the news every other day during the miners strike.

These offices played an important role.............that actually changed peoples lifes around here.

So of course I want a response to this post and every other post that I post..............because guess what..............what we are looking at is called a MESSAGE BOARD

Its not called............A COMMENT OF THE DAY BOARD

There are some boring b@stards on here that can only look with total jealousy and envy at what others might have to say on here.

Because they haven't foooking 2 brain cells to rub together to actually comment on their boring miserable fooking lives

 

It is about opinions on here and I for one don't agree with some people's views but I think your last comment is a little bit disrepectful to fellow forumites.

I don't know why I should bother.......but I'll try (bit like knocking a nail in a knot; it just wont go in with some on here).

.............obviously you weren't around at the time or have no knowledge of the struggle that went on at that time between the people in the building I'm talking about and the people based in Arthurs Castle on Huddersfield Road in Barnsley.

My advice Tarntyke............would be to read a bit before posting.

 

Its a shame they didn't have their Bar-stewards members in the building why the was knocking it down

 

Wrong on most points .

One is it were the Notts NUM offices during the strike not UDM.
They were stolen from the NUM after the strike by scabbing bstds that could get away with anything with the help of the tory govt and its apologists .
The Norts NUM had to use other pemises and a closed shop policy to boost udm membership was introduced whereby anyone working in the notts coalfield could only be represented bY them with the full backing of a Tory govt.hypocrites.

There was disputes with the pensioners who wanted NUM representation along with the areas miners who had been on strike The NUM offices were I repeat stolen.

The UDM had been based at the site since it split from the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) during the bitter year-long miners’ strike of 1984-85.

 

the building used to belong to the num and as marlon said it was stolen from the num by the scabs and the government

 

My advice to you is Stop trying to talk in riddles and make your point with almost all of your posts.Of course I was around at the time, if you read my posts you'll easily be able to establish I was a striking miner at that time,
BTW, When I was made redundant, I went onto further and higher education ang gained a BA Honurs Degree.
I won't be answering you or posting anything else on this thread as I feel it has more than runs its course.
